I remember the Shard of Fear portal bring up in Freerot a long time before the zone opened.  Has anyone seen an entrance to the Shard of Hate yet?

The entrance to shard of fear in EQ2 is actually the way you got to the plane of fear in EQ1 thats why it has been there the whole time. In EQ1 you had to have wizard ports to hate from these pyramid things to get to hate so there was no regular way in.

<p>I would love to be able to explore the wonders of EQ2 Players while at the office, but for some reason the office net filter thinks it is a [Removed for Content] site.  The network admin in charge of it stated that in order to get put on the list a site had to receive a very large number of public comments to be lumped into any given restricted group.</p><p>So who's posting [Removed for Content] on EQ2 Players, and more importantly why can't I find it when I'm at my house?</p>

The wargs looks great, again doesn't look really good on caster type. Is SoE ignoring caster group? I am still using flying carpet! EoF came out wargs, then RoK came out rhinos. Now Wargs again. The creatures doesn't looking good on caster, some use horse but I don't. Be thoughtful please because we are also players. Now I have to admit that casters are totally underpower because we are weak and our dmg below from among melee classes. They has more advantages from fighting tolerance. Even they kills mobs much faster than casters, JOKE! Don't nerf melee class, too many of them. OVERPOWER casters to keep class FUN. I felt its not really much fun anymore since we are "weakling" Give me a break!Even more worst, Im stuck 52% capped mount speed. While scouts, some players run 100% even 114% from their AA. I think time for SoE to create speedy mounts for us to travel. Why have to keep us traveling really slow through many green/gray mobs zone. Im lv 80 and I would have to spend a lot time on traveling (Im coercer, no teleports for us grins)... again give me a break!Keep improving SoE!

I've seen casters pretty satisfied with them. My personal preference? Horses. If they made them pumas or panthers from EQ1 accessible to EQ2, than I'd be all in with my Assassin Elf. Otherwise, a warg is too big and looks too messy, and a rhino? heh, more comedic value for me. But, I don't have any mounts for my chars. My only travel beef is between Qeynos and Freeport, but it's often easy to overcome. a FREE magic carpet at 40% works fine for me. Or, I nudge my Druish friend to give me a sow at 45%, then wear my Jboots for 55%.As a 68 Assassin, I'm still using my Path skill (16%) Jboots (10%) SoW Totem (24% I think. Only Jboots stack to make 34%) combo. Even more, I'm using the combo more than I whip out that dirty old rug. Takes too long to "mount" and then to actually go. Then, there isn't a huge difference between 34 and 40%. Agility line and I -think- the physical line are what bring up the run speed. I would love to put points in there but it's useless. Most scouts put points for dmg, not the ability to run faster. Meh, personal choice, of course.Moral of the story is...casters are not being ignored and all that...and more or less, I don't think having a runspeed of 52% is all that bad. be happy you can even afford that. I can't. But it's ok, I think travel time is ok at even 24%.---and, the new wargs make me giggle. They now have silly helmets! hehe

<p>Indeed, I personally hate the warg and rhino mounts.. I think they just look stupid. Could you make a horse mount with the new stats next time. The last thing I really care to see is another ogre sitting on his pink warg with an enlarge spell active in Qeynos Harbor. It's stupid and it just serves to block my view of wherever I am trying to get to.</p><p> Just my opinion. I'm sure they think they look cool.. but they don't</p>

<p>Ditto on that. I think the rhinos look stupid and the wargs aren't much better. I agree that they aren't really caster-type mounts. I'd like to see more horses and/or other alternatives. Even an upgraded rug would be fine with me. </p><p>Yet another warg just shows laziness and/or a lack of imagination.</p>

I never liked the rhinos, but I loved the old wargs. On these new ones the main armor over their head is just waaay too over the top. It looks like the Warg can barely see, and has no use of it's mouth (I always figured their teeth was one of the selling points of a warg). It looks like rhino armor. It's bulky, ugly and impractical. I'd be worried my Warg was going to fall over face-first.Hate to say it, but these new wargs look like a joke. I'm not at all looking forward to having to look at these in-game.

Hate to disappoint you, bbj1947 there will be no flying mounts in EQ2 unless they revamp whole Norrath realm. If you really want the flying mounts, then play other MMO, EQ1, Vanguard, WoW, and others but not with EQ2. I did brought the argument in previous post and the players confirmed me that the devs repeatably won't ever give in to any effort making flying mount due to land render that already designed for non-flying mounts.Just yet they can be more creative creating really far out mounts. Remember this is RoK expansion, obviously not their best like with EQ1, cuz in EQ1 Kunark's almost nothing, so they knew and don't want to spend too much energy onto RoK. Looking forward for improve expansions coming out in the future. I think they need "Luclin" revamp since the Norrath graphics getting suck with modern technology, look at COA and newest MMO coming out, their graphics are brilliant! Better get busy SoE.

<span class="newsContent">"You can choose to help cleanse the hearts of those that are affected to then bring that much needed peace to the lands by assisting Priests of Love (located in the "good" cities) or you can choose to further deepen the hate and thereby widen the doors of that shard, by assisting the Disciples of Hate (located in the "evil" and "neutral" cities)"I'm guessing (and this is only a guess since I can't find these guys on OpenTest) that either the quests from Priests of Love and Disciples of Hate are intro-quests and don't actually require going into SoH (like the quests to research the Fear gate before it became active), or that whatever they want players to do will be goals that people on both sides can work on simultaneously (like groups in Bloodline Chronicles can work together for their updates even if people in the group are working for opposite sides). My question though - shouldn't the "neutral" cities have both, since they are open to both?  Or are the neutrals being thrown in with the evils so no one has to decide if Gorowyn is "neutral" or "evil" in this context?</span>

Exactly right, Lodrelhai!  As you will hopefully see on Tuesday, the SoH events are intro quests that do not require you to step one foot within the Shard, so it is open to all levels, and the neutral cities were matched up with the evil cities so no one had to decide if Gorowyn was "neutral" or "evil" in this context.

<span style="color: #00cc00;">For my Monk the mount that best suits me is a Warg IMO as when not being ridden it could take care of itself (I do HATE the docked tail look for my warg however) also seems a better combat platform for a monk doing "acrobatic" stunts. While I'm glad that the mounts will be less water-shy I was hoping that; 1) they would be so until the point of going under the water (no beast would allow that even with a spell that would allow them to breath down there) 2) What about the Hovering mounts (Carpets/Disks)? Are they less water-shy as well? As for the Boots idea, what they need is an upgrade to the Journeyman's Boots perhaps with Kunark and whatever super secret live update non-dungeon zone they have in the works timed races.</span>

Second, they didn't spend too much energy on RoK or they don't want to?  RoK seems very polished to me.  Now I was there when some content wasn't complete at release, and that's fine, they had a deadline to meet.  But I don't think anyone honestly believes they didn't want to spent too much energy on EoF, which is an expansion that SoE seems very proud of.Third, the skeletal revamp has been in the works for sometime, but the way I tend to look at it is this:  At inception, no computer I could find would run EQ2 on highest settings.  The joke among my friends was that such a thing didn't exist.   Several years later, these graphics are still competitive because of this.  EQ2 looks somewhat realistic, which is what most other MMOs lack.  Yes, Vanguard is realistic, so that may be an exception.   However, look at WoW characters versus EQ2.Now, with this in mind, I don't believe EQ2 needs a "Luclin revamp" for this reason.  EQ2 was designed with the next generation of technology in mind, and is still competitive against other new MMOs.
