Yeah the whole basement is like that. I just re-bought the Qeynos residence; I have had one for years, but didn't feel like picking everything up and moving. Really should be a moving crate option for redecorating. Anyway, before I go off on a tangent, I never had pictures downstairs before so had no clue it was so buggy.

Put another picture behind it first , the place that one on-top of it , then remove the first picture using the door 'pickup item' option , it's the only way I've found to stop that.

Now I really feel dumb for never thinking about doing that.

Qeynos, homes do have this bug in some areas, but they pale in comparison to the Freeport 5 room which seems to have this bug running rampant.

Not really a "bug", the surface of some of the basement walls are not flat. It might look that way to us from most angles but some arent. Hence wiggy z fighting on some surfaces...

There is also a problem with the floors and walls. When you put a tile floor you find that there are no ways to align your things on it. The walls are not at the right angles and each time you put something like a table, it seems off...

You could also try using a bookcase, turn in backwards, bury it into the wall, and hang the picture on that. Use the wood look of the bookcase to extend the size of the picture frame.

The issue isn't just about that particular basement wall and it isn't only about placing a picture. I have a Froglok Paladin on Lucan DLere with a 'starter' home in Castleview Hamlet who recently had this problem when placing his Gnoll L&L trophy (a halberd). For some reason the wall's surface is uneven, to the point where the halberd's blade wound up beneath the wall, unless placed very close to the ceiling. This isn't a new problem, either. Although I've yet to see anything like this happen in Neriak housing, I've seen it in Qeynos and Freeport housing as far back as 2005.
My solution has always been to use a second painting (if they're solid) or just embed a bookcase in the wall, or I also used to use the market board as I recall.IMHO Qeynos & FP housing need to get some love one of these GUs... they haven't really been updated since... the Beginning. Things like flattening those walls, adding more wall options, and (the biggie for me) the ability to turn off the light rays from windows. Ever have a bright blue light ray poke through a constructed obstruction and totally ruin the look of a room? Most annoying.

LOL. I have the same house, but I never had that problem. Guess it's because I have a crafting table against that wall.

It reminds me of that big oval mirror which reflects what is behind it - in other words, a window. I've seen that mirror "hung" on some walls and I always wonder why.
