Okay so I am in Enchanted Lands lastnight and I went and got me a a great briarpaw. There a triple up heroic. I charmed him and DPS buffed. So I head back to the dock with my bear on my tail. Im 33 so i just got my 15 min charm and its adept 3. So I'm getting quests and YELLOW screen blink. So I said to myself "what the hell is attacking my bear, I have 12 minutes left on my charm." As I turn to look, low and behold....NOTHING! This happened all night is any other coercer having this pain in the [Removed for Content] problem?

All charms have a chance to resist and break (that was the yellow blink) on them so the higher the mob charmed the better his resist also the ^^^ mobs have better resists that could be why it broke so quickly.

Might also note that a ^^^ mob is only marginally better than a even mob as the mob is reduced the a no arrow when charmed.

To lessen this try to get your subjugation up a few more points.

welcome to the high risk vs reward class. it is part of the risk involved with playing a coercer. for starters you can stick to charming even or down arrow mobs of your level or below. mobs when charmed are dumbed down anyways. so it is not worth it to charm a 3 up heroic thats gonna smack you down if charm breaks and you can't get a mezz on it. the most important is you charm spell. all other spells in your book you can have at apprentice 4, adept 1 or adept 3. if you have any spell at master level the Charm spell line is a must have at master. the damage output of the master charmed pets compared to adept 3 is significant.

My subjigation WAS maxed. The spell says when target takes any hostile damage there is a chance for charm to break. The target was Charmed allready and I hadnt touched a single mob.

If you havent done so already, I highly suggest you put 5 points into Charming. *on the coercer tree*

Charm can break at random time. Some mobs have a higher mental resis then other mobs and tend to break easier.

If the mob resists, then the charm breaks, even if it is not damaged. That's how it works. Your pet is not permanant, that's why you'd better take the best pet to do max damage.

Usually animals do not make good pets. better charm an non arrow mage or prist pet than a ^^^ animal.

In EL, my favourite pets were the halfling deputies (when they were yellow) mostly because I had fun bossing them around. You do need to make sure, though, the pathing deputy is no where near your new friend to be while you're charming.. they're very social.Other than them, I liked the girls on the other side of the wall. Find one who is on her own and have a bit of fun.

In EL my fav pets were in order-

Dirge Heroic Lamia's way up by the Nightbloods

Fury chick things over by the farm

Necro halflings on the other side of the wall, it's like having your own mini army, though those pets (and their pets) seemed to bug sometimes leaving you in combat. You just had to kill something else to reset it though

But to the original point of the OP, yeh charm will break, just be ready to mez/recharm at the worst possible times. It's something we have to put up with, and it costs 3 conc slots for that privilage.

(or am I the only one who ever has that happen?)Charm breaks when your significant other thinks the look of utter concentration on your face as you're trying to manage a group of targets with mez and stun means that you really need a kiss right then.Charm breaks because you broke wind and.. well.. umm.. ewww.Charm breaks when something comes on the TV that distracts you for just that moment.Charm breaks....
