I bought a new computer which should be arriving soon and I was wondering what would be the best way to install the game and all expansions/updates on the new computer?

I have RoK CD, which I think includes the base game and all expansions. Should I just install from that and then I guess I will have a good bit of patching to do? What about setting up my account on the new computer? Anything I need to do before logging in on the new computer so my toons will be available?

Thanks!

Greetings,All you should have to do:*pop in RoK discs*start EverQuestII.exe (will be a shortcut on your desktop)*log into the game (you won't initially see your characters from the drop down menu, as this will be a clean install)*do some minor patching (I think it took about 20 minutes last time I reinstalled from CD)*get back to having fun as usual!

One of the best ways to install to a fresh OS is to backup the original program folder onto an external hard drive, then install RoK from the disc, and then copy and paste the old directory into the new directory, it will replace all of the older files and put the updates were they are supposed to be. When you log online, it will download the rest of the needed files to completely patch the game. Thats how we all do it here under my roof and it's worked every time.If you don't have a backup, then just install RoK and then update it through the laucher. All you have to do is use a validated login and if your account isn't registered for RoK, you're going to have to register the expansion.
