Hey all.  Just a quick question.  I dig my little Swashbuckler alt, IMO this class is all about style.  But on a technical level I have a question.  What makes us so much better then Brigands at multiple target combat? Everyone says the difference between Brigands and Swashy's in combat is that Brigand's are better single target and Swashbucklers are better multiple target.  Unless I'm missing something Swashbucklers only get 2 AoE's and Brigands get one.  Does that extra AoE make us that much better?  At best, I see my Swashbuckler getting 3 AoE's.  One from race and 2 from class.I love my swashy, I don't want to play a Brigand, just seeing if I'm missing something when it comes to our multi target ability.

Not sure what level you are but at level 52 you get Hurricane which gives you a very good chance of autoattacking multiple targets you are facing. This is a very powerful effect. have to watch it though because in some zone you will hit mobs through walls floors ect and get adds.

Swashies also have simply more AoE attacks than Brigands.

I understand we have more.  We have two that I know of and they have one.  But that's not a lot more.  Just curious what makes us so much better.  My swash alt is not that high yet and I have no problems taking on group encounters that are level appropriate.  Just wanted to know if I was missing something that would qualify us as being that much better than brigands.One AoE is on a 1 minute recast and the other is on a 30 second recast.  I don't have Hurricane yet, but based on just these two AoE's I don't understand what would qualify us as being so great at group encounter combat?  The swashy is great for many reason's, I'm just trying to see if I'm missing something when it comes to AoE combat.

<p>Hurricane makes the difference.</p><p>55% chance for your primary weapon to autoattack up to 4 additional targets in front of you everytime you attack (55% is at master 1 and 5 AA points).</p>

Let me explain things for you a bit more.</p><p> While nice and of note when answering your orginal question of why swashies own brigands AoE wise since Hurricane was already mentioned, our extra aoe on a short recast timer isn't the main sourse of our AoE power. Hurricane is the sourse. With every swing of your melee weapon, I have a 55% chance to hit up to 4 frontal targets within melee range (AA and Master Hurricane). So while you are looking at it as 3 extra AoEs (one your racial), really it's like a mana/casttime free AoE ever 2-4 seconds. </p><p>Understand now? </p>

So it sounds like <span class="postbody">Hurricane is a big boost to our multi target damage, but prior to lvl 52 the multi target advantage is small.  Got it.  Just making sure I wasn't missing anything.</span>

How the heck did you guys get a masters spell of hurricane? I've never even seen one LOL. You can also aa line the hurricane for an additional 5% proc. My aoe is insane end game. LOVE the swashy
