Exe file

Can anyone please help everytime the launcher gets used it always patches the exe  file this never used to happen before is this now a normal thing or do I need to get another exe file. I did have a virus and I dont know if it affected this file but I do manage to play allright evertime I have logged in can anyone please offer suggestions

You may want to try and disable the firewall, and antivirus software if they are installed. You may also want to that try running a clean boot, by making sure all unnecessary background programs are disabled. Please follow the directions below on how to accomplish this.To disable background programs. 1. Select the START button.2. Select RUN.3. Type in "msconfig" (without the &quot<img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />4. Press OK5. Select the STARTUP tab.6. For Windows 98/ME, uncheck all boxes EXCEPT for SCANREGISTRY and SYSTEM TRAY. If you use Windows XP, click on the disable all button.7.Hit apply and then OK. Restart the computer when prompted, then try the game again.

I did all that and my system froze had to do a complete system restore. Game is still patching the exe file. Did a search for the eq2.exe file and the application file is in my folder it is 12,088kb.

Have you tried scanning the system with a online scanner - like the one at trend micro?</p>

I ran AVG and it found another two viruses, it cleaned them now I can only get in through the back door and not through the update launchpad please help

I have also checked my launchpad folder there is no files in it. Where can I download another launchpad file?
