Hi im having a problem with my PC locking up with a sound loop and totally freezing when i'm using vista media centre and playing eq2 at the same time. I have to physically reset the system when it locks up

This freeze only happens when i play eq2 and try to watch media centre - its fine just running media centre by itself.

The crash can occur anywhere from 5 mins to a few hours of watching media centre while everquest 2 is running.

Its something in eq2 thats causing a conflict with media centre like overlays or memory leaks or god knows what

My PC is totally up to date - drivers, updates etc etc

AMD x2 5200

4 Gigs ram pc800 dual channel

MSI 8800gtx 768 m/b ram

2x 300 gig sata raid-0

Leadtek DVT2000

I've tried googling the problem, but i cant see many people using Vista media centre and EQ2 at the same time

I really dont even know how to start troubleshooting this issue - i'm assuming its SOE or MS conflict and im sure each company would point to the other <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" width="15" height="15" />

Regards

Suspect the issue leans towards attempts to share the audio subsystem, have you tried disabling sound completely in the game? Sound devices are notorious for not playing well when multiple applications attempt to access it
