Hello all, I just came back to Everquest 2 after wanting to give the new expansion pack a try and I am loving it. I have been playing my ranger ever seince EQ2 launched and always loved him but when I got to raiding in EoF he kind of fell short. Not because he couldnt push enough damage but because he has to be postioned very presiesly. In alot of EoF raids or KoS raids you have to be VERY close to the raid mobs in order to kill them. This sort of kills the use of your bow and ur DPS goes to [Removed for Content]. One example of that might be taranix(i know its an old raid) and how you have to stand right under him. With all this being said I just have a few questions.

1. Should I go assassin? I know assassins still use bows but very seldom in raids it seems. They are always right up in the mobs [Removed for Content] getting those backstabs in. It seems like they would be a better choice for raiding.

2. Are some of the new RoK raids more spaced out or do you still have to be right next to the mob for you not to get killed or something.

3. I am about to hit 72 and I was thinking of betrey right then because I could get lvl 72 mastercrafted armor(alot of my gear now is ranger specific). Also those last 8 lvls would give me time to get use to my class before I go raiding.

What are you thoughts on my current situation?

Created: Nov 13, 2004

Time Played: 139 days 9 hours 10 minutes

That's how long I've been playing this Ranger. If the changes on test go forward as-is or without significant improvements, I'm betraying.

Positioning has never been a problem for me and I always do well on the parse. But having to worrying about whats around the developement corner for my class is getting very, very old. And, it seems like the problem is going to continue to become worse. I play this game for recreation, not to create stress.

Don't betray -- cancel your account.Betraying only shows that Aeralik has won. Taking money from SOE's pocket will speak much louder. My account is up in June, and if there is no resolution to the BS currently on Test, SOE will not be seeing any more of my money, and encourage any other ranger who is [Removed for Content] off at these current changes to do the same.

Going back to the SWG days they didnt listen then & "some" devs dont listen now.. Overall ive been quite happy with the fixes on EQ2 since i started playing just over 2 years ago.. They have added alot in for the better & broken some stuff along the way, but that cant always be helped..

These things will always happen & im not condoning it but, The ranger class does need some tweaking & heres hoping for some real fixes in the not to distant future.
