I played Everquest 2 a long time ago and to make a long boring story short I stopped and now I'm back. I also intend to create a new character. My question is this, which of the normal rule set servers has the highest population where as a new player I'll have the highest chance of getting into groups as a lowbie. I remember there was this one dungeon in the Common Lands that I always wanted to do back in the day but could never find a group. It had something to do with the undead and ghosts. Well maybe that was just the first level not sure how deep it went. Can't remember the name ^^;

Anyways, thank you for any of your responses

Make a Character during your normal playtime on a week day and select a server near the bottom of the list, the lower down they are the higher the current population on the server is.

Fallen Gate is what you are thinking ofAntonia Bayle has the largest population by about double the next closest (which is Crushbone). AB is an RP server. CB is standard. In between you have Nagafen which is the "pwnd-joo" server.There are advantages and disadvantages to this, so beware:Advantage:- lots of groups going for all levels at all times (except for levels 40-60 which are just dead no matter what).- lots of social interaction, RP, events, community, etc.- people on at all hoursDisadvantages:- lag/slower performance is not uncommon- crashes are not uncommon- last server to be brought back online after maintenance or a crash- plan to spend about 1-3 weeks after expansion release dealing with downtime/lag/login issuesSo ... what's it worth to you, is the question.

Thank you for the responses. I think I'm actually swinging to AB. Downtime is a small thing to pay if I can still find groups with my weird schedule

If you have a weird schedule, create your character at what will be your normal playtime and when it comes time to select a server, you can see which ones have light, medium, and heavy loads.If you are really skewed timewise you might want to play on one of the European servers, perhaps, or on Najena, which is sort of the unofficial Pacific rim/ANZAC server and thus will have people up playing during Australia and New Zealand's prime time.
