I recently upgraded to an Geforce 8600 GT 512 MB ram card. SInce then I have been having some odd issues. I managed to solve one of them, but still have two more left. I will show you a screenie that I took of one of my more annoying issues.I have upgraded with the latest Nvidia drivers as well as the XFX (manufacturer) drivers. Reinstalled DirectX and we keep getting these types of images at various times during gameplay. Some times it will take most of the screen, or sometimes it will be just a few small things like Plate armor. At times it will disappear when I move the camera as well.I do run in Dual screen mode. I play on my main monitor which is at 1280x1024. My browser monitor is set at 1024x768. Please note that this set up worked fine before I upgraded....I monitor the temperature which usually runs about 50 celsius. According to the info that I found, these cards seem to be certified to at least 110 celsius (peak) I will post some of my recent DxDiag so that anyone that is able to help can see what I have....Sorry fo the long post, but I wanted to give as much info as I could right from the start.... Thanks for any assistance.------------------System Information------------------Time of this report: 3/21/2008, Yep.. Looked on the manufacturer too... NO luck there. It is a new card too. We are considering sending it back to see if it is just a bad one... I have been getting E_outofmemory errors and D3Derrors as well...I am beginning to think that this upgrade was not much of one... lol

Anything? Yes, this is a shameless bump in hopes that a TSR may see it (if they are open today that is)On another note... It is happening more often as well as the E_OUTOFMEMORY and the D3derr_notavailable errors. We have tested the Graphics card using Futuremark and everything seems to be ok with it... temps are still good on it as well... We have just run out of ideas to be honest. My husband is GREAT with computers, but even he is at a loss... lolOn a side note.. THis is what I got once in BBM looking at a Ratonga...*apologies to Ridopest* But I have to know what is causing this ill formed disease on Ratonga's.. *wink*

Have you run driver cleaners to be sure you've removed all forms of the previous card's drivers? Some times remains of other driver versions can cause issues.

Indeed - leads away from the assumption of a card fault. It may, if failing a driver clean, be something spesific to textures.. tho youd have probebly tryed the game with lower gfx settings already. Quite a bizare issue there! I have never seen something resembling it in all the years Iv worked with comps.

Well, I played a bit yesterday, though I only was harvesting and crafting.... But I didnt see any yellow textures yet.But this morning as I was walking to the Ironforge exchange in NQ, I got this error...Everquest II has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown.<verify> E:liveeq2frameworkcoredevicessrcDirectX9RenderDevi ce.cpp(2391)DirectX Error. (E_OUTOFMEMORY)Any ideas? We have tried to uninstall DirectX and reinstall it... again, we are at a loss... I have also been getting an D3derr E_NOT AVAILABLE error once ina while too. Once I get that one again, I will write is down exactly as it says...

It sounds to me, texture orientated... My own course of action would be at this point to swap the card out with a known good card and see what happens. Id also run a test at the same time with the suspect card in a different system. Just to attempt to completely eliviate hardware issues. I suspected your processor but after you stated the last dx error I seriously doubt it.

Generic response seems to be: 1) Make sure you have a current copy of all related files before doing this.. 2) remove or uninstall all related files... 3) reinstall chipset drivers 4) reinstall DirectX 5) reinstall display drivers 6) Delete your EQ2 ini files 7) Delete your EQ2 GUI folder 8) repatch EQ2Here is the main thread on this issue...

As an update to this issue. We did not do the swap out... We instead got rid of the XfX drivers and went with the Nvidia ones. I did the driver cleaner a few times while in safe mode...It seemed to work for a few days, but today, I began seeing the flashing of yellow and the errors again Tonight, we will be putting my card into my husbands PC to see if he gets the same issues... and see if mine disappear...

Grrrrr.. I still get noth errors and the yellow textures. While playing my graphics card in Hubbie's PC, I didnt have any issue, but then again, I didnt play it for days.Any other suggestions? We ran3Dmark on the computer and didnt see any issues with the card.. so we are now confused....

Just a quick update to how things are going.... I have turned off my shadows and the Anti Aliasing to my card with this game and I still have the issue. I have been in contact with the manufacturer of my card and they say that according to my error, it is not the card. It is either the game or the DirectX according to them...Any other possibilities? I thought that I read someplace that GU 44 had something updating with memory, I am wondering if it may help me, even though I only have 2 gigs... Test Update Notes: Friday, March 21st 2008

The client will automatically enable a low-memory mode when you are running low on memory. The low-memory mode will downsample far away textures and unload geometry that hasn't been drawn in a while. The low-memory mode should generally be invisible.

Performance settings were adjusted slightly for better rendering at lower qualities without significantly impacting performance.- Flora will now only be rendered on High Quality settings and above.- Objects will not disappear as quickly on lower settings

The client is Large Address Aware, meaning that you are much less likely to run out of memory if you have 3GB or more of RAM and are running either the 64-bit versions of Windows or have modified your boot.ini to support 3GB user address space.

Newest issue... well sort of the same, but it is a bit different. It seems that I am now also getting some tearing (for lack of a better word). Around certain objects, I will see this. I took some screenies in Zek. Around a rock there, I would get flickering black angled areas missing in the game... To this...Any new Ideas??? I am really at a loss on these issues... lol
