Okay, I've been playing this game for 2 days now, and at all hours of the day the lag in some places is unreal. I am at the point where I am ready to quit this game already. Which is a shame because the game seems promissing.

Please dont tell me to check background programs (none running), or temp (cool) or video card (plays everyother game without issue), or ram (enough to get it all done). These are not the issues, I've been reading this forum for the last few hours, and dispite how much people try to blame the user in every thread, it really seems like the service provider (sony) just isn't doing enough to solve these problems.

I wanna play this game, I don't wanna hear BS. Tell me the truth (not your EQ2 fanboy, rose colored glasses story). Has this game always been like this? If not when is it gonna get better? I don't feel like watching lag every 5-10 seconds while running though a town on a low pop server (I MEAN HONESTLY) its so frustrating, I'm trying to enjoy a game on my day off of work and all I'm doing is praying for the quality to get better.

In 3 years of WoW, the only time I encountered lag like this was right after patches, or right before and only in highly populated areas. There isn't even anyone hardly playing on the server that I'm on (atleast not that I've seen) Why does the same seem to struggle so much.

Please don't make me go back to WoW, but I'm not gonna just hand sony my money on the whim that their game will get better with time.

First impressions are everything, and I've come into this with a few optimistic outlook, and I've found a game that I think I would enjoy (if it was playable and not so frustrating), but as of right now I would never recomend this to anyone because I would just hear the backlash about why I would suggest something that seems to barely work, let alone work at the quality people should expect for $15 a month.

Please someone, anyone, why is this game so [I cannot control my vocabulary] frustrating......I'd rather be wiping or dealing with class imbalance.....but I fear I'll never get that far into it.

Why in everyone of these threads do people ask for the same things, when I clearly wrote "PLAYS EVERY OTHER GAME" no problems and in just a few searches you can see this same performance problems arise with tons of people with nummerous different systems. I am not gonna put together a whole new system to play this game regardless. I swear its like no one knows the answer as to why this game runs like it does so they ask these same generic questions.

WoW - Full everything, runs fine...little lag on occasion in IF/Org/Sha

Tabula Rasa - No problems, nothing.

Guild Wars - No problems

Maybe just walking away would be easier before Sony starts to take my money, because this is too much garbage for the first 2 days of game play. I can honestly see why this game never caught on in the main stream like others. I'm glad I never asked my friends to join me in EQ2, cause I wanted to get a little taste of it first, but now the only taste I have from it is bitter.

Game = Best I've played

Game Play = Might aswell be trying to play it on a C64.

WoW? Guild Wars? dunno about the other but yeah... those are not very graphic intensive games. I have a new rig and can run around on extreme quality most places, maybe a little choppy in town or heavily populated area but not bad (and the occasional out of memory error, but thats another story). EQ likes cpu speed, not cores, and lots of ram. It isn't the best performing engine around but it can be run. For all we know your rigs to old and your expecting to much out of the graphics settings.... but since you want to blame eq I dunno what to tell ya....

I play on a fairly low range computer, for this day and age, and it plays ok for me. There's some lag in spots, and I expect that because of my rig. But, I also played WoW on high quality settings and it ran fine there. The point is, the game engines aren't the same, and WoW's cartoon graphics aren't very demanding on my system. If you would just post your computer's specs as was suggested, then maybe we can help tweak it for you. Otherwise, stop complaining unless you are just a board troll and aren't planning on doing anything constructive but whine. If so, leave we don't need another immature WoW player here, and yes I figure you're probably nearly as old as I am if you even know what a C64 was, but maturity has nothing to do with chronological age.

Why do they always ask for the system information? Well, for starters, it's a good way to start the Technical Support process. It also allows them (should they have to) to forward all pertinent data regarding your issue to the 'next level' Tech Support people.

Also, you'd be surprised how particular hardware can be sometimes. My ATI card ran EVERYTHING beautifully. No problems. Log in to EQ2 and the first time I try to zone anywhere, CRASH! Visit the ATI website, got the latest Catalyst drivers and haven't had a problem since.

So, you mean to tell us that the problem is not on your end, which we'd try and help you fix, but instead it's a problem with SOE, that little-to-none of us are experiencing?Touche' good sir, your apple is a peach and my sword is a sausage!On a serious note, WoW and Guildwars are not computer straining games.Post your specs and maybe we can help.You might need something as small as a driver upgrade.
