Check out this Dev poll and VOTE. Let's make sure a dev takes a serious look at us from the inside.

Keep in mind we're going to start at level 1 and play up from there. We're doing this for fun. So the likelihood that we will experience raiding issues or have a chance to play with your epic are probably pretty slim for awhile.

No worries, Rothgar... My siggy shows my coercer so as you can see, I'm not raiding or anywhere near an epic myself. Starting from the begining is the best way to see how the classes mature over time and observe where the rough spot are anyway. I'm rather pleased you guys are doing this.

You are going to miss out on the excitement of getting your....ummm.... impressive...ummm.... EPIC. But oh well, good luck to you anyway if you play a Coercer. Just remember to bring 5 of your own friends if you want a group. Although you will have the advantage of being a known Developer and there will be those who will be willing to group with you based on that alone, no matter what class you play.

By then there probably be only 12 Coercers left. It's funny that this was brought up. I've been teaching a friend who recently started a coercer how to play. (I've got a 73 Coercer)What I told him the basic are:At the lower levels you will....

Die ... A LOT

Get resisted ... A LOT

Have charm break at the worst time possible ... A LOT

BUT! You'll also have

More buttons to push during a fight than any other class I've personally played (still haven't played any scout classes past 20, but have at least tried them all.)

Ability to defeat an encounter that has gone terribly wrong by the skin of your teeth.

Personally, I feel that playing a coercer with both the good and the bad is almost an art in itself. I do believe that there are some glaring issues with the coercer class for the most part, but to me it's still a fun class.

Which is why I suggested in the poll that the devs should create a coercer and an illusionist for comparison (only half joking) to really understand the problems. By itself one might think the coercer class is ok (except for all the dying lol)..until compared to illusionist, and then one understands why so many have betrayed.

Thank you for the link in this post. I'm sure a good many people won't even know that this poll is out there.

You guys are gonna have so much fun between heinous deaths if you play a coercer. So many inopportune deaths..."[Removed for Content], that mob was at 2% when my pet broke. *&^%$#@!!!!"You're right, it will be a long time before you see current raids and epics - but you can still raid at lvl 20 with the guild writ raids if you find the right group/guild.Have I mentioned the heinous deaths? Good on y'all for doing this, and I do pray that one of your group choose a coercer, and another chooses an Illusionist so you can compare the two classes as they grow... and die... a lot.

If the coercer user in question doesnt level the said toon to 75-80, and experience the sheer mindnumbing uselessness of a class that cannot DPS nearly enough to matter, (yet is required to do so thanks to the nerf of a hate buff that hasnt had an upgrade since T6)...cant stun, stifle, power drain, and yes, even mezz a mob in T8 cause they are immune...has no viable grp buff other than, again, a hate buff that hasnt been upgraded since the DoF expansion as well as a DPS buff with the same problem. If they cannot experience the sheer uselessness of our lvl 65 "Character trait" spell Possession...not to mention the ineptness of our lvl 80 Class Spell Puppetmaster first hand....if they cannot experience the sheer joy of being replaced by an Illusionist which enjoys all the afformentioned benefits of good dps, and buffs. If they cannot share our unbridled joy for that "twig" we call an epic. If they cannot experience all these problems first hand, and many others,(I didnt even mention our newly nerfed charm that affects T8 content,( RoK), than all of this is moot. Just a publicity stunt.

Being that a dev has already mentioned that this will likely be the case, Im not holding my breath for change. However I suppose, after years of silence that its better than nothing. One still has to wonder why something like this has taken so long, but whatever.

Oh, and please, for goodness sake, if somehow, someway, this does result in changes to be made, please dont simply nerf illusionists in order to bring them down to "our level"...fix the Coercer!

Leave them alone!

Please start your characters at level 20 when you receive your first Reactive! Then see just how contradicting it is that 1/2 our spells stun and the other 1/2 are DPS only if the mob isnt stunned. Rothgar started a coercer on Test tonight. He got to.. umm.. well.. he dinged level 9 right next to my new experiment, an arasai bruiser (it's the outfits.. and she cute when she kicks), not long before he logged off (and I logged off shortly after).Rothgar's coercer is named... umm.. Rothgar *laugh*My baby Test bruiser is Neid. She's very green. (The name is German, you'll understand if you look up the meaning of the word *smirk*)I would have rolled a coercer but I have a baby coercer on Venekor and don't want to get -that- confused *laugh*

Thanks Greg.Do your job. We pay you guys enough.

We'll see how bad I stink at healing now that I'm used to a coercer. lol

I hope they engage in a few duels, it's alot to ask for straight-up PVP rules, but even a duel will show them another reason for frustration.

Think of this too, shouldn't the devs have been doing this all along with all the classes?
