If all you do is grind you'll be behind in AA's IMO. Take the time to quest while grinding and you'll level faster with the quest completion and item disco xp, which will in turn boost your AA xp.
ok but if I may ask, what's AA xp?

AA is the term for achievements (comes from the Alternate Advancement in EQ1) and is a way of adding abilities to your character beyond the standard CA's or spells. Type "L" to see the screen. You get AA xp, starting at level 10, from quests, exploration of new areas, killing of named mob's and from certain items.

This assumes that you have more than just the base game, since AA's were introduced for your class and sub-class with various expansions.

I tend to enjoy moving around quite a bit in the game. Thankfully there are plenty of areas to hunt in and plenty of quest hubs. No matter how tempted, when an area starts to get dull, even if there are repeatable quests, move on. Otherwise it does tend to get dull and become a grind. Moving from zone to zone of the same levels helps as well. You can take only so much of one kind of scenery before it all seems like the same routine. Few days in Thundering Steppes, few days in Nek Forest, maybe some time in Butcherblock helps to break up the feeling that your just "grinding".

If you're only asking about level 50, that sounds like you don't have any of the expansions. Therefore, no AA to worry about.

Grinding is the slowest way to level in EQ2. Yes, questing requires you to run around a lot, but the experience and reward items more than make up for that.

As for how hard it'd be, what are we to compare it to? It's a lot easier than grinding levels in EQ1, I know that for sure.
