Okay I'm a Canadian EQ2 player and Livegamer.com doesn't have an option for International Users to register an account with them.

How is this going to effect my game play? What in-game & out of game limitations will I have as opposed to now?

Anyone with information on this, it would be appreciated.

I spoke to a Livegamer support guy but he just said the usual generic, we will be adding international registration in the "near future". Whatever that means.

The Livegamer.com only affects Station Exchange Server users, The Bazaar and Vox. It means you can't buy or sell things on those 2 servers for real money. Other than that it shouldn't have any affect on you or anyone else not in the US.

But alas no item for me, I live in 3rd world Canada.

Don't worry, this site will soon be gone I'm sure. You HAVE to have a texting enabled cell phone to register, this is total BS. I have 2 kids and I have texting disabled on all our phones because of the cost.

There needs to be a fix to that before it gets anywhere, and if they can't do it by email, then its stupid.

Here's what I got from Livegamer.com's CSR:

CSR Colleen D: This is Colleen from Live Gamer, how may I help you?Robert Marotte: I'm trying to sign up for the new site with your company, but my mobile phone isn't set up for texting, so how do I go about getting registered?CSR Colleen D: Unfortunately, there is no other option at this time other than a text message from a mobile phone, but we are looking into other options at this time. CSR Colleen D: You can use any text enabled phone as long as you have access to it.Robert Marotte: are you kidding me? why isn't that stated before I signed up? this is sillyRobert Marotte: I don't HAVE access to a text enabled phone, why can't email be used. It's only been around for 15 years nowCSR Colleen D: I apologize for in inconvenience, but texting is more secure.Robert Marotte: since when is texting more secure than email? I must have missed that reportCSR Colleen D: Its more difficult to get a hold of a lot of phones than it is to get E-mail accounts.CSR Colleen D: But as I stated before, we are looking into other options. It is possible that we may have something around the launch date (March 31).Robert Marotte: I still think you need to rethink this. My email is secure, and I don't have access to a text enabled phone. I'm being left out of being able to sell my items legitametly because of this policyRobert Marotte: The launch date is about 1 1/2 weeks away, are you telling me that email is going to get more secure in that time?CSR Colleen D: I'm not sure what the final option will be but it will be something more convenient that text messaging.Robert Marotte: well, I certainly hope so.

This doesn't bode well for this company if they have such crappy policies.

Shadowdragoon wrote:
So? no moore information? Non US customers gets mistreated some moore.. sigh..
How much more information do you need? Non-US players can not buy and sell on Livegamer.com. Its not mistreatment, its logistics and legalities involved would be my guess.

the mistreatment is the item they give away for signing up, and not having a second way for those who have no chance to sign up.

It appears that as in station exchange, due to legal and tax law issues, the service will still only be available to residents within the US.

Uh, the /claim item is only available on SE servers.
