I noticed last night that I am missing about 25% of my ranged bow attacks when I solo. I had always thought that I was missing so much because my ranged skill was not maxed out but even after getting it to max I am missing more then I would think. I only get one or two shots off on the pull most the time so I don't generate a lot of hits but looking at a parse over time I see this miss rate. I usually solo in offensive stance and at level 76 am still using the rain caller bow with indium arrows. Is it the level of the bow or arrows that is causing this miss rate or is it normal for Pally's? I like rain caller because of the chance at a stun which allows me to get off several attacks before the mobs closes to melee but with this miss rate it is not procing nearly as much as it should and higher level bows or even symbols might give more benefits then it does.

Any help is appreciated

Udon

You are now T8. I'd suggest another bow.And splurge on the good crafted arrows, I use the field point arrows with the bonus to hit -- woodworkers make them, and they are much more affordable for us than, say, for a ranger who shoots 2400 of them daily.I got my woodworker to make me this, which I like for the stats as well:Pristine Imbued Mahogany Long BowMASTERCRAFTEDAttunable +45 Strength+45 Stamina+85 mana+90 healthGleaming StrikeRangedDamage: 127 - 382 (84.89 Rating)Delay: 6.0 Range: 35Weight 5Level 72Brigand, Berserker, Troubador, Shadow Knight, Assassin, Swashbuckler, Guardian, Dirge, Paladin, RangerEffects:When Equipped:On a successful attack this spell has a chance to cast Gleaming Strike on target of attack. This effect will trigger an average of 1.8 times per minute.Inflicts 5 - 10 magic damage on target

>>>I got my woodworker to make me this, which I like for the stats as well:Pristine Imbued Mahogany Long Bow<<<I use a Mahogany Recurved Short Bow, which has something like +50 STR, +25 AGI.You do less damage per shot, but I can often get two-three shots in while pulling.

I used both for different circumstances, heres my bow experience breakdown.

mahogany long bow, level 72 stats above, used with field point, gives plus 5 meters as well, so puling with an arrow from max distance, then doing your ward, by the time the mob hits you , your warded and using conviction, quick recast, and good initial damage, possible stunnage or interruptage, forget which, but its nice.

then, i got the new dizok bow, great graphics. and it's nice to hit even cons, and see the health bar drop 20 percent instantly, sooo nice. Yes, you do miss some, were not rangers, but if you want almost 100 percent hits, then use a t8 arrow, field point, perfect for range, now, if you are going to pull when they are closer, and want max damage stated above, get your self some bodkin arrows, +256 crushing? but -5 meters, not much time to ward after, ward first when using these.

When you get to 80, you pretty much hit everything, and demolish all zones, nothing you can't do, stick it out, try out some different arrows, play to your style, but the dizok bow is worth it till i can get the razorwire one, looks cool.

good luck and have fun!
