Leaderboard and update announcements

<p>I've been reading through posts on leaderboard updates and now see that this has been an unresolved issue for quite awhile now.  How often are the leaderboards updated and is there any rhyme or reason to it??  I just checked and it has been over 2 days since the last update.  In tracking the updates, sometimes it seems like it's sooner than that and sometimes longer.  Shouldn't this be automated in someway so that the leaderboards are just automatically updated say every 24 hours?  BTW, I've tried refreshing my internet page just to be sure it's not me and it's not.</p><p> My other question/comment is I can't seem to find a common place where updates are shown.  SOE has some very pretty areas where SOME updates are listed, but wouldn't it make more sense to have one common area that could be broken down into sections?  After one of these daily updates, I'd love to know what's been fixed, but trying to find that information is VERY confusing.</p>

Looking at those long-standing update issues, maybe SOE could kill two birds with one stone:Whatever plat farmers are being paid, SOE should hire, offer them twice whatever they are earning, and have them manually enter the EQ2Players data.Would make updates more regular, AND would solve the plat farmer issue. <snicker>But on a more serious note...  A LOT of people have been plagued by all these irregular updates for the past <b>18 months</b>.  Could we at least get a report as to what the problem is exactly?  Is it a backlogged database that can't keep up with the feed?  Is it a software bug?  Right now, SOE is selling a service (advanced profiles) that does NOT work, and has been doing so for 18 months, and has provided next to ZERO feedback to their customers as to what the issue actually was, and what they were doing to fix it..  As others have pointed out before, this borders on illegality - selling a non-working service for that long (we're not talking about a temporary failure here).Just because it's only 99 cents a month doesn't mean it doesn't matter - wether it's 99 cents or 99$ a month, a commercial service is a commercial service, with an obligation from the seller to actually deliver a functional service on reception of payment.  Seems to me like SOE has been gathering data for months now, with those constant "Which character/leaderboard/guild is not updating?".  Are you guys fixing them by hand on a case-by-case basis?And if whoever is on these forums lacks the power to do anything about it (which I can understand if that is the case), then...  Who can we escalate this issue to?

I did read in one of the threads from about a year ago that SOE thought that the update was done every 24 hours.  I didn't see anyone contradict that, so maybe they think it's fixed.  Obviously it's not and it does seem pretty ridiculous that it has gone on for this long being broken.  Probably needs more people complaining about it to get a reaction .... BTW 2 days 7 hours and 11 minutes now since the last update ...

Gem, if you haven't already figured it out, directly asking for an SOE response is one of the few ways to ENSURE you will not receive one. As for the update frequency: Yes, it is supposed to happen every 24 hours. I'm assuming Gninja would keep us updated if this were to change with all the issues that have been going on with updating. The Antonia Bayle server seems to be the worst for updating, so if you are on that one, I recommend using the other thread to help track the problem.
