Bought the game

EverQuest II All-In-One Includes Base Game, Three Adventure Packs and All Four Expansion Packs, Including Rise Of Kunark - installed it - downloded patch - click play and got this error mssg "The options definition file failed to load." I disabled all in the startup on msconfig - shut down avg - turned off firewall - deleted eq2_recent - deleted patch log after patch log - configured my router to the best of my abilities - WoW plays just fine - tech support help asked for info that I cannot add to their station "update question" thing - what could possibly be wrong with me/my computer that this thing isn't working

It's amazing - I've spent 24hours trying to get this going - I had one problem with WoW, called tech support and the game was up and running within minutes

it's ironic that the EQII icon on the desktop looks a little like the word "FAIL"

It's probably because Verizon is such a small company... there's probably only 4 or 5 of us who are customers with them... or maybe because Westell is so obscure... I think it's run by this guy out of his basement... of course my computer is almost a year old now... and my modem/router is 2 years old... so it's antiquated...

Sony's technical support is not helpful and rude. I just talked with one on the phone who sounded drunk. He told me to perform functions I've already tried. The chat support has been obliterated - OBVIOUSLY because it was a failure. Blizzard, while they still sound like tech support drones, techies help to get their product running. I had a problem with WoW after one of the patches and Blizz's techs had the game up and running in minutes and it's been working fine ever since. Sony, on the other hand, cannot help me get the game up and running after 24 hours.

The latest email from Sony's "tech support" is : At this point we have provided the information you will need to configure your router. If you are unable to do so without assistance then I recommend calling the tech support line for your router manufacturer.

When I had a problem with WoW a Blizzard employee said, "I can help you configure your router" and did so.

You appear to know how to use Live Chat and phone support, so posting updates here on the forums are not really needed. Thread closed.
