For awhile now I've been having performance issues in certain zones. I'm kinda new to eq2 so I'm not sure what's normal and whats not. My computer is running XP on a 2.66ghz quad core cpu, 4gb ram, raid 0 raptors, and an 8800gtz with 768mb ram. So I'm running a pretty good system. I'm running at 1920x1200.I'm running eq2 on high quality. With the default settings I'm finding most zones I'm getting 35-45 fps but certain zones cause me huge performance slow downs. Enchanted Lands, and Greater Feydark are a couple problem zones. In EL running from the docks to the teleport spire I'm getting like 10-15fps. Sometimes I'll even drop into single digits. This just isn't right for a top end system.Tonight I started playing with settings and I found one setting that would cause the problem. This was floral displacement. This setting would drop me from 45fps to 10fps. I think there is probably some sort of bug with that option as no option should have that kind of effect.Anyway if you are running an 8800gtx you might try turning that option off.

Yes floral displacement and shadows can cause a performance hit. I found a slight increase in performance disabling these settings (which I wish I didn't have to and shouldn't really have to considering my system). I still can get capped at 30 FPS, stutter and get random/low FPS in zones you mentioned and more.
