Also, anyone know any more lore behind the the Raid Zones?

Like Tomb of Thuuga, I assume the Draknids are after Thuuga's corspe for some ungodly reason. Thuuga being the Iksar creator/Master of the Drovlarg.

Pawbuster, clearly they slaughter Drakes there.

Kor'Sha is where the Overking is at, Vernil Sathir is self explanatory, his throne room.

The Levithian is the new god of those Fishmen people.

And the ring of Scale.. bunch of dragons.

The Greenmist Orb, perhaps? Since the Greenmist was a weapon of great power for the Iksar, it would make sense that Sathir would keep it well guarded in his new seat of power.aITEM 53713421 -1031366557:The Greenmist Orb/aDropped by Imzok's Revenge.

Most raid zones and mobs in the game have no lore behind them. Some of them are explained in the epics... I think.. Otherwise there's not much to explain them other than what happens directly in them.

The Pawbuster has been around since EQlive. He was, and still is, part of the monk epic, though he was only a group encounter last time.

Protector's Realm is treated as just another raid zone. I mean the main conflict in the zone itself is another band of raiders double cross you and leave you for dead.

The other band of adventurers are searching for it and they needed our help to collect the shards from the other named in the zone so they could awaken Imzok's Revenge.

The driving storylines between each expansion culminate in raid zones and mobs. The most reknown characters in the game are usually raid targets. Mayong Mistmoore, Nagafen, Vox, Venril Sathir, Trakanon... the list goes on. There is some lore behind every raid zone if you dig a little bit.

Tomb of Thuuga - Thuuga, the first leader of the Drolvarg when they were created by Venril, died with a lot of secrets about the Chelsith Stone. Mayong has sent his minions, the Drachnid, to discover those secrets so that he can find the Stone.

Execution Throne Room - An execution room used by the Drolvarg in the war against the Ring of Scale... and pretty much any other faction that gets in their way it seems.

Protector's Realm - Not sure exactly what this area is used for by Sebilis, or who the Imzok is that created Imzok's Revenge... but I would venture to guess the main reason it is here is to keep the Greenmist Orb safe.

Venril's Throne - Seat of power for the Sathirian Empire

Temple of Kor'sha - Lots of things going on here... a bunch of Iksar relics in a Di'Zok temple, very confusing. Wish they'd release more information about this.

Chamber of Destiny - Residence of the Leviathan, and previously the place where the Greenmist Oubliette was erected by the Shissar. Also home to the fishmen tending to their "god."

It's not that out of place that there'd be Iksar artifacts in a place controlled by the elder Sarnak brood.

There are hints to the background of these zones. However, I hate to limit the lore behind these locations to raiders. Here is a summary of what these special places are.

The Tomb of Thuuga:

Thuuga was the chieftain of a small clan that can be traced back to the iksar Kylong Tribe. It was during the Age of Enlightenment that Thuuga's tribe existed in a small city in the Dreadlands. That city was called Drolakis. Thuuga's power of sorcery and his powerful tribe of warriors were subjugated by the resurrected Venril Sathir. Along with their subjugation came the curse that turned the people of Drolakis into an army of drolvarg. These beasts would become Venril's army in the south.

Thuuga's love of his homeland had him create a secret throne that was based on the architecture of the city of Drolakis. When the chieftain was slain in battle, his life force was spirited away to that hidden dwelling. That resting place was the only intact remainder of a secret throne of the drolvarg commander. His secrets of Sathirian betrayal and Chelsith history have been entombed here until recently when the drachnid discovered it.

Execution Throne Room:

Deep in the heart of Karnor's Castle rests the execution throne room. The castle was built in the middle of the Elder Age. This particular throne room was created to allow the general that oversaw the operations of the Karnor to relax and dine while numerous subjects were executed before him and his dinner guests. Numerous souls were lost here, among them, sarnak, giants, goblins and even lesser dragonkind. The levels of atrocities within this chamber were so great that the spirits of the executed were cursed and bound to personal artifacts taken from them upon incarceration. These cursed artifacts scream in silence for vengeance upon the race that tortured them, the drolvarg.

The Protector's Realm:

Long ago, the Protector's Realm was constructed as a tomb to honor the greatest champions that perished in the fight to unite the first iksar tribes into the Empire of Ik. It is believed that the original ruler of that empire, Emperor Venril Sathir (the living), placed great enchantments upon the crypt in honor of the great champions that rest there. This would surely keep any crypt raider out. In truth, the mighty Venril did not enchant this realm in honor of the iksar heroes, but rather, to use the spirits of the champions to act as guardians of ancient secrets. One of the greatest secrets kept in here is bound to the ultimate guardian, the Sebilite Protector.

The band of crypt raiders that adventurers encounter within the Protector's Realm is mentioned in a couple other areas outside of the dungeon. If any of you have spoken with the gnome bounty hunter, Colonel Leevan, then you might have heard him mention them. He is on the trail of a serial killer that was once a member of that band of crypt raiders.

Venril's Throne:

Within the bowels of Sebilis rests the impregnable Sathirian throne. From there, Emperor Venril Sathir rules over his mighty empire. History has taught Venril to trust no one. He allows few, if any, members of his empire access into his throne room.

Guarding the throne room of the ruler of the Sathirian Empire are constructs and wards taken from some of the greatest arcane societies of Norrath. Venril has even begun to feed upon a new faith to provide him protection from the entities that might have been blessed with the might to overcome the defenses of his throne.

The Temple of Kor-sha

Within the sarnak fortress of Chardok, the Di'Zok have constructed a shrine of creation known as the Temple of Kor-sha. The temple was named after the birth place of the sarnak race, the secret iksar workshop of Kor-sha. Although Kor-sha was never discovered by iksar or sarnak, a number of the artifacts from this place have made their way into the black markets of Kunark. This temple holds a great many of those artifacts. These are part of the sarnak origins and the sarnak evolution. They hold the key to furthering the genetic evolution of the sarnak. This is why the Temple of Kor-sha exists, to promote the secret research of sarnak evolution and the creation of a second savior race. Inside these sacred halls, the elite Di'Zok research the dark rituals of the late Emperor Atrebe, creator of their race. The ruler of the Di'Zok, Overking Selrach, is rumored to be plotting his own evolution by undergoing these ancient Kor-sha rituals.

The Chamber of Destiny:

In the lost shissar city of Chelsith rests a vault built to hide one of the greatest creations on Norrath, the Shissar Calendar. This ancient calendar was built to foretell the fate of Norrath. The shissar used the calendar to foretell the death of their empire. Their attempts to combat that fate and save the shissar race failed. However, one of their creations, a great stone machine, did succeed in containing a small portion of the deadly force that destroyed the Shissar Empire. A small portion of that evil force is more than enough to slay an entire kingdom. Fortunately, a device of great destruction has a guardian of great destruction. The creature that dwells here has done so for ages and for ages it has been transforming its environment, covering much of the secrets of the shissar including a portion of the Shissar Calendar.

Yeah those raiders in PR had familiar names. I thought I had heard of them somewhere before.
