first off:

Operating System?

Does your brother have xp and you have vista? That causes a lot of extra lag in EQ2 and many games.

Are all of your drivers up to date?

What works best. You can try this..

Take Shadows off. Take Flora off.

Texture Resolutions; set them all to High (if its on maximum) or one more notch lower to get best performance. Those make up the entire game. Changing just this fixes hitching, stuttering and lag during combat and big zones.

I've tried all that, but thanks for your reply.

I've tried running everything lowest it can possibly go in the game and result in 50FPS staring ata wall and 20fps running around.

On my system? no way.

We shoulden't even have to run it looking so ugly on our systems, it's an insult.

My wifes xp3000, 512mbram, 9800xt 256 runs it better than me and others here who have good machines like me.

A patch needs to come out and fix it, my gfx card and CPU are over triple better than my wifes.

Might be time to leave this after 3 days of play and go back to LOTRO, had that looking best graphics ever, 1280x768 everything ful whack 16xaa etc and ran smooth as silk.

And it looks better and more demanding than EQ2. It's a shame, as EQ2 does seem fun! just sluggish and jerks and stuff its unplayable
