View Full Version : PvP item advice
I'm finally closing in on 400 tokens and would like advice on which is the best PvP item to invest in first. Obviously Purifier looks good and would look nice with my epic - but I could do with an armour upgrade too.Thoughts?

I am going for the armor upgrade with my first 400 tokens. In these short fights with scouts the Purifier procs won't have much of an affect of these battles. The extra mit/avoidance might keep you alive for that extra second to get in that extra crit or double attack.

I went with forearms. I'll be honest, I went with foreamrs first mainly because I wanted to worldwide disco it before the other pvp active bruiser on nagafen did (he's disco'd 4 pieces, two before I got disco on the forearms). Anyway, tbh, the forearms upgraded me much more than any other piece would and the fact that I had a t8 adornment for forearms in the bank waiting for me to upgrade my forearms. Incidentally, I had t7 pvp forearms previously.

I'm thinking of going for purifier next, though. Atm, I'm using y'kesha warclub in my offhand. I do like the stun proc on the ykeshan war club (stun), but the purifier would increase my dps as well as add another nice proc. I haven't decided yet, but I'll either get the purifier or perhaps either boots or gloves (both of those are also currently t7 pvp armor).

Anyway, I think you should decide by which upgrades you the most right now. If you have decent weapon and, like me, still wearing a couple pieces of t7 pvp gear (or worse), it might be good idea to go with a piece of gear.

I got the purifier just a few days ago. Based on the few solo fights I've seen since then it seems to make a difference. Most of the fights I've run into have been hopeless battles against superior numbers so I suppose thats not really good for drawing a valid opinion on hehe. The armor is nice looking, but I figure some extra mit and less + to stats then I could get from a potion isnt going to be as useful as a decent weapon with a cool if not always useful proc. Plus I was tired of every monk I fought having this weapon and watching all my temp buffs get dispelled...say goodbye tsunami bwhaha. Hell, at the very least it means that if a full group attacks me and I just aoe, some of them might have to go through the inconvenience of recasting buffs...and thats worth it damnit.EDIT: wow did soe unclench their sphincter? I just swore twice and didn't get censored! hmm...[I cannot control my vocabulary] [I cannot control my vocabulary] [I cannot control my vocabulary] [I cannot control my vocabulary]EDIT2: ah well not all the way I suppose...

He has 7 pieces of pvp gear atm. Five pieces of armor, the purifier and boomerang bandolier. I'm ashamed that I only have one piece atm. Damned work getting in the way of my pvp!

The Purifier is nice. Took me too bloody long to get it...but that's life on Venekor.

Just got the pvp hat a few days ago, Owain. got the disco on that as well. Jett got the disco on the rest of the armor. Going for purifier next, I should have it in the next couple of weeks if the raid pvp holds up. I know there is alot of people complaining about the raid pvp, but I am actually having a blast with it. I never liked raid pvp before, it always seemed so one sided. But lately, it's pretty fun in KP in the evenings. One day we'll hold the docks and the next the Q's might.

The one thing that I really really hate is that the Q's get an evac/revive spot right there at the dock. They can evac, and run to the docks still immune while we can't. SOE really really needs to look into that and change it. Either make their evac/revive further away from the docks like ours is, or put ours closer like theirs is.

After I get purifier, I think I'm gonna go ahead and save up for the BP.

Yeah the revive spots - and the Qeynos advantage in where theirs are placed - is messed up all over RoK. Dreg's is definitely the worst though.Purifier has been fun so far - I've been tearing up Wardens with that debuff. I think I might go for the Shifting Band next though. I really need an armour upgrade but that detargeting proc is gonna be hard to pass up. I fought a (very well-geared) Monk before he had it (I won) and after he had it (I got owned) and the difference was astonishing. I literally couldn't target him until it was too late.Very jealous of the amount of PvP you get on Naggy. All I do is PvP (no raids or instances) and I'm lucky if I get two or three writs done a day. I'd transfer, but a) I'm too cheap and b) everyone that I hated on Venekor moved to Naggy. Anyway, nice to swap views with another PvPing Bruiser. Keep up the good fight, mate!

Yeah, I've been looking at shifting band as well. You're right about how difficult it is to target someone using it. My guild's main pvping fury got the shifting band and he RARELY gets touched anymore (cept from those darned warlocks and their upheavals). Fought a monk that decided to stray into freeport tonight and he had shifting band, I kept losing target like every hit. If it weren't for the brig jumping in on the fight, he'd have killed me for sure. Just kept hitting my "target next hostile pvp" and "previous hostile pvp" buttons.

And I thought Nagafen had all the top-end PvPers. But picking a PvP item just to get the world wide discovery, even tough other pieces would be far superior, is just... I mean, wow... I better get some sleep now instead of going on reading this thread.
