Im kinda sick of my six room house. Every six room house in Qeynos looks exactly the same. Laid out exactly the same too. Everybody puts their dining room in one spot, and for some reason, they never seem to be able to set up their houses to really look worth a darn.

I would really love to have some different styles of houses, just having the rooms laid out differently, maybe a patio instead of an indoor garden, or to just have something different than everyone else has. I love the new zone has a bit of a window with a view. If I had the choice, I'd give up a bunch of my house items just to have a bay window overlooking Oakmyst Forest, or the Castle, or something. Just something a bit different than what everyone else has...

I agree completely. I remember the first time I did the haunted house at Ironforge Estate. I was so anxious to see what that looked like inside and it turned out to be just the Qeynos 5 room layout again.

New houses they have added since launch are pretty much a step backwards though. They are rather plain and and lack much of the appeal of the originals. Plain round or rectangular rooms with little architectural style save for the window in Gorowyn. Guess they just don't want to spend the money on the artwork, especially not when artists can be used to make more LoN loot.

I'd love to be able to get a new Qeynosian pad.

Had my adored pit in Nettleville for a year. Filled up with quest gear so fast. Then my upgrade in North Qeynos for a little under another year. Filled up with additional quest gear and the occasional rare to offset status cost. Not that I go overboard on that, the home is more about being a visual diary of the characters accomplishments than anything else. Course, manouvering furniture and supplementing complimentary crafted peices ain't bad at all.

Been in my south Qeynosian place for so long now. Bored of it. And ain't ever been that inspiring a layout anyway. Seems spot on for the murky needs of the Halloween quest, but not that great as a place to actually live in. The use of light (or absence thereof), and weird attic especially.

The amount of additional quest furniture is now quite a lot. There ain't enough rooms to accomodate it all with complimentary crafted bits to create something special. Just looks tired.

A new 6 or 7 roomer would be great. Especially considering the advances in zone design and greater understanding of the minutae of housing that exist now to when the original housing layouts were designed. Things like just how high a ceiling has to be before being considered too squat and claustrophobic or just pointlessly tall, the lighting from windows, wall/floor upgrades and their application to one room bleeding over into another.

With the recent innercity updates in regards to the boat/banker/broker, the focus on the aquaducts could perhaps inspire properties with a garden adjacent to the water.

No additional vault/broker slots are required by me at least. Just wanna be inspired by a new home again.

Actually, what I'd love to see are prices in Freeport and Qeynos adjusted. In Kelethin, Neriak, and Gorowyn, I can buy the largest house there for about 2 plat. I also have the choice between paying status or not paying status for them in Gorowyn and Kelethin. In Qeynos and Freeport, they hosues range from 4 to 5 plat and all require status. Housing costs should really be re-evaluated.

As for size, I'm not sure we'll see much bigger than what we've got. It already takes a while to zone into a 500-item count house, and the sage expanders will add another 100 furniture slots. Plus the Freeport and Qeynos homes really should be called 8-room houses instead of 5. Some areas of the house are two or three rooms, but they're only being counted as one.

That being said, it would be nice to see more new housing, and I'm anxiously awaiting to see what the next new city will look like.

You can enter any house in game by right clicking on the door and selecting:1. visit (to see someones furnished house)2. tour (to see an empty house before buying it) Oh and if you want to see pictures of some very creative house decorations go to the Norrathian Homeshow part of the forums and knock yourself out

Ya, I don't understand why they cant cut and paste some of the freeport rooms to qeynos or for that matter any housing. Not everyone wants wood floors stone floors. kind of lame how its limited per city. I'd love to have a neriak house or freeport house..... just wont betray to a Coercer do it.

I'd swap it for an unfished attic, and an outside garden any time.

Windows: Solution.....player crafted windows of various sizes, with different outside views. The higher the crafter's level, the larger the window can be, and the more scenes that can be selected from. I kind of like the idea of being able to add multiple scenes to windows, and allow them to be changed, similar to how interior floor/wall/ceiling textures can be changed.

What about an idea of an "enchanted" window, that can be crafted / /claim'ed quest'ed, etc that is placable in your house like a picture, where the view you get isnt really where your house is at? Lavastorm in your back yard and Enchanted Lands for your front? Not sure if that is something we'd ever see tho...

Sapphirrius,What you said about the long loading times brought this old idea I had to mind: Purchasable extensions to existing houses. Zone areas you can buy and 'add on' to your house. This would allow more items and more usable space, but would also keep things from killing your poor computer. And this would give the devs a reason to go nuts with ideas. You could have gardens, more rooms, a courtyard, a stable ((I've kinda wanted to put all my animals in a barn for a while now ... yeesh!)), etc.I'm also a big fan of creating new layouts for existing large houses in Qeynos and Freeport. Three layouts for FP and One for Qeynos just ... well, kills the creative soul in small ways. Need more variety. And ... I'd really like to see more texture options in housing that can utilize it. I'm not sure the new housing in Kelethin, Neriak, or Gorowyn can even have new textures ... so, that said, it would be nice if Qeynos, Maj'dul and Freeport could steal tiling ideas from Maj'dul and Palace of the Awakened, or stonework from a crypt or castle, etc. I can't imagine any of the marauding hordes (Raiders or hunters) NOT appropriating the ideas they see in other lands in their own homes.I think, for me, the housing is as important as somehow getting a better variety of clothes on my characters (especially my poor wizzy ... she has no options!! *cry*)). I am an artist, spend a ton of time sketching and messing with color .... I love having the creative outlet in EQ to actually decorate and design. To have more options would be fantastic.

Something I didnt know about. It IS now possible to expand the number of available items in your house up to 600 with the Dimensional Pocket Expander.

My house went up by 100 tho not 50. I guess 50 might be for smaller houses...

Remember the bottle you got with the DOF expansion? It took you into this great colourfully furnished house that did absolutely nothing. Sadly when the housing in DOF did arrive it felt like you were living in a swimming pool or worse a gigantic lavatory. Why on earth didn't the DOF housing look like the hosing from the bottle?? There could also have been a "6" room house using the template of the Tower of The Moon, wouldn't that have been cool?I've dreamed that one day there might be a team at SOE dedicated to custom housing. E.g. it's a manual service maybe organised through the guides where you choose a site for you house or tower and after paying A LOT of in-game plat the DEVs place the house or tower into the game environment on your server. If the price was high enough e.g. 500 plat for a house 1000 plat for a tower, the game would not get littered with houses - anyway the devs would have final say on where the house/tower could be located, if they felt it detracted from the zone then another location would have to be chosen.Imagine having your own tower out in the Thundering Steppes or a house overlooking some scenic location? The secret would be to make them expensive so they are unique and each can be slightly customised on the interior layout, and ecah is non-instanced - so your tower is really yours. That would certainly give those of use who have too much plat, something to spend it on!

Another easy trick to to positioning objects in your hous in general is that the mouse wheel is your friend. Mwheel by default rotates the object, hold CTRL with your Mwheel and you can adjust your elevation. ALT + Mwheel gives you fine control over rotation, or with CTRL + ALT + Mwheel gives fine control over elevation.
