*the elf coughs nervously and opens a rather tattered scroll* Greetings! *her eyes scan the area* This short tale has been hidden on our guild walls for a while and since the Festivities for Brells Day are well under way I wanted to share this with you all. ((Its meant as a giggle and based on actual events in the guild Elements of Arcadia, hope you enjoy!))

Teuta smiled to herself as the two Elves walked past her, safe in the knowledge that neither would see the Gnome while she was stealthed, not that the taller races of Norrath were known to look down on occasions. Teuta considered the pair, both were clad in armour but the way the tallest carried a huge meat cleaver and shield led Teuta to suspect she would be the guardian.

“Well, where is she?” the Tallest demanded.

“She said she’d be right here at this time” The other elf explained. She pulled out a Journal and flicked through the pages, “Here” she said, tilting the book so the other could see and pointing. Teuta chuckled and stepped out from the shadows, “I’m down here.”

Glares from the Darkest of the Elven Race have been known to stop charging Orc Armies in their tracks. Teuta was now facing such a glare from the guardian; she coughed, adjusted her spectacles and waited for the pair to speak.

“So?” after a pause the guardian demanded, “what have you dragged me all the way out here for?”

Teuta grinned “I’d have thought you would have welcomed the chance to visit home again” she pointed to the dark dungeon beyond.

The guardian opened her mouth but was quickly interrupted by her partner, “Can we please get started? I asked you to help us as you have the skills that neither of us have. We need you to protect us while Teuta and I try to find a missing Halfling.”

Teuta snorted “So I’m to provide the main damage dealing aswell then,” She shrugged “You should have asked a Warlock along as well”

Laili shifted uncomfortably “Lord Vonotar was unavailable to help us, as he and Lord Tuckin were celebrating Brells Day.” She explained.

These ‘Celebrations’ were famous amongst the Guild; both Vonotar and Tuckin would celebrate by trying to drink each other under the table. Truthfully both tended to celebrate Brells Day on most Days; Teuta suddenly felt the urge not to return to the Guild Hall for a couple of days. Warlocks with hangovers were dangerous creatures.

“Fine, fine, lets get this over with shall we?” Teuta checked her weapons and applied a fresh coat of poison to each blade. Lhasa checked her cleaver was working correctly by removing the head off a nearby snake in one blow. Laili continued to shift nervously, deciding she had better do something to prepare she muttered under her breath and waved her hands. A green orb appeared before both Teuta and Lhasa, “It’s a Divine Essence,” Laili explained. Receiving only blank stares she sighed, “To resurrect me should I die in here”

**********************

“Haw!” Tuckin laughed, “I’m not nearly ash drunk ashyou!” He pointed at the swaying High Elf sitting across the table from him. Vonotar narrowed his eyes and frowned at the Dwarf, hoping Tuckin would assume it was Vonotar’s usual look of distaste. In fact he was having a hard time focussing as he reached for his pint of ale. Tuckin gwarfed merrily as Vonotar missed his ale mug for the third time, grabbing at thin air, the Dwarf then proceeded to spill ale down his beard as he finished his drink.

“Thatsh cheating” slurred Vonotar pointing in what he thought was the direction of the Dwarf’s beard. “Bah!” responded Tuckin “I’m still ahead of ye’ by two pintsh”

“Ok, ok, ok……..ok” slurred Vonotar “Last pint each, whoever,” he hiccupped “whoever finishesh this pint firsht wins….”

Tuckin set down his empty mug and looked at the extremely drunk High Elf, who was currently swaying on his stool and hiccupping. He grinned and waved his hand towards the bar, “Barkeep! Oi! Barkeep!” He clapped, “Two more of your finesht ales for me and my buddy ‘ere!”

Paido looked up from his scroll and sighed, “For the last time I am not a Barkeep!” he muttered under his breath, fetching two more ales for the Drunken Lords.

“Well maybe next time you won’t use that illusion to sneak into the Girl’s Dorm!” Clefaeble’s tiny voice was heard from across by the fireplace. The little Fae had settled onto the top of the comfy chair Nabeth was sat in watching the contest. It was Nabeth’s responsibility, as Judge and Overseer, to see that neither Tuckin nor Vonotar cheated. She flicked the pages of the book she was reading and adjusted the cushion from behind her back. Clefaeble glanced at the pages but could not make sense of the spidery writing. She tutted and instead watched as Paido brought over a tray full of fresh pints. Paido set down full pints of warm frothy ale and removed the empty mugs, “next time I wont get caught” he muttered on his way back, glaring across the room at Clefaeble. The little Fae smirked and stuck her tongue out.

Nabeth coughed gently as Vonotar slipped his finger into one of the ales and turned it once. The High Elf scowled at her and swapped it for another which still had alcohol in it.

Both Lords lifted their pints, “Okies” slurred Tuckin “on three……one…..twooooo……”

Suddenly the heavy oak doors slammed open and rattled on their hinges. Lhasa strode in carrying a huge meat cleaver in one hand and a shield in her other. The shield and her armour was dented, battered and dripping. Nabeth looked up from her book and wrinkled her nose at the sight. Tuckin and Vonotar, their drinks forgotten had turned to stare at the Dark Elf’s entrance. Vonotar had put down his pint but Tuckin still held his, tilted to allow the maximum amount of ale into the mouth, it was now spilling onto the floor.

Lhasa removed a small chain from her bag, “All that!” She breathed heavily “All the searching and killing and scrabbling around in the dark and grime for this!” She held up the chain which glinted in the candle light “A bloody necklace!!!”
