As above.

Just got advanced warning. Since it lasts for such a short time. And boss raid fights can take quite some time. How do I know if a boss is going to cast an AOE on my team mates?

Will it say like (In my bimbo voice) "Oh!! I am going to cast an AOE in 5 seconds! please prepare your Advanced Warning Swashie! ^_^ "

Yeah if your guild uses ACT and you have a good raid leader it is very useful tool in raids. Our raid leader calls a ten second before the AOE and I count to 5 and pop it. Works great, I usually save it when the mob is like 30 pct or so to help finish it off.

Now there is a warning on this, sometimes the timers get messed up and you can cast it, and the AOE won't go off when it should, and you can in a world of hurt (happened to me on the last mob in PR the other night). But most times it works great, just need too judge the right time to use it for max benifit.

Also make sure the raid leader has act set up to recongnize swipes.

Yeah blacoath and the others got it right. With ACT you or your raid leader should be able to recognize when the AoE is coming... just need to watch those pesky swipes.

How do you get ACT to take swipe into consideration when it lands? Its kind of silly that we have to depend on a third party tool... and there is no visual reference for mobs AOEs (some sort of casting effect "Waving arms in the air or an emote&quot

/em Nagafen flips you off as he prepares to open a can of whoop [Removed for Content] on your pitiful raid.

Isn't it a bit strange that you need external programs to fully exploit combat (ACT)? Such as AE warnings, melee timing etc.

Steve11418 wrote:
How do you get ACT to take swipe into consideration when it lands?
ACT automatically takes traumatic swipe into account when it lands if you are using the spell timer window. I want to caution you though - you can't be too far away from the mob when the AE goes off or ACT won't "see" to set up the timer properly.

Just said it is strange that EQ2 does not include all tools by itself to exploit everything of it. Never said I am against ACT. I am using it and I like it.
