Turn off anti-virus to start...that thing is a major resource hog. Secondly, set your graphics card to performance or set it to at least "application preference" (I use ATI so no idea what the equivalent is for nVidia or other manufacturers). Also, disable Aero if ya have the feature activated on Vista as it also takes up lots of cpu/video resources.

It's because you have a laptop with intergrated graphics not a real graphic card, and while the 7150M may be better than Intel's intergrated graphics and it still pales in comparison to a real graphics card. Also your new PC is running Vista which stinks for gaming and causes everthing to run slower, i'm guessing your old desktop is running XP which is better gaming wise.

Now you can midigate it some by turning of all the Bloatwair that I am shure came with a Manufacturer PC, as well as the Bloatwair Vista comes with even out of the box, like Aero, and that gizmo side bar thing.

Basicly, anything that uses CPU cycles disable or off-load it to only one core, and run EQ2 on the other, as the processor more then anything else effects EQ2's Playablity.

One thing that made a noticeable improvement for me was removing all my but my recycle bin icon from my desktop. I found it a bit hard to believe when it was first suggested to me, but I saw a significant increase in performance when I did it. Apparently desktop shortcuts are a bigger resource hog than most people think.

As far as I know, EQ2 on Vista is not officially supported yet, even if it will run.

And yeah. Integrated graphics cards SUCK. If you want a good framerate, go get a real computer. My definition of a REAL computer is anything that is not premanufactured by Dell, HP, Compaq, etc. Build it yourself or get someone to make you a custom rig. Think of it this way, its like trying to race a Formula car and a Camaro. Sure the camaro is sold as a "sports car" but there is just no comparison to the performance to high end machines.
