Can't get past the character creation

Everytime I finish creating a character I name and select a server. When I try to log into the server it kicks me back to the Character select screen and then sits there and an option Disconnect comes up and shuts down...What is going on? Does anyone know how to fix this?If I sit there long enough I lose connection to the server.

<p>a) you should make sure that the downloader has downloaded all of the updates.</p><p>b) make sure you have a good connection to the internet, since your posting here i would assume that your probably ok there, if your running on a slow line (dialup) this might also be causing you grief.</p><p>c) post your question in the technical forum since they have the knowedge to help you more there.</p>

Are you running Vista by any chance?  You need to run as admin if you are.Also be sure that your AV/firewall is keeping you out of the game...If it isnt one of these, then perhaps posting more info about your system could help.
