I've had a new issue pop up since GU43. Prior to this update, I was able to successfully use 3D sound with either the EAX or Dolby selection and hear the output in my 5.1 speaker type selection. Since GU43, however, if I select either EAX or Dolby Surround, my Speaker Type option becomes greyed out and I hear sound only from my front speakers. This is on a Windows Vista installation, using a Creative X-Fi sound card and therefore using the Creative Alchemy drivers to enable the 3D support with legacy EAX. The sound drivers have not changed. Alchemy has not changed, and as designed, if Alchemy is disabled, the EAX selections disappear from the game options (as they should). The only change has been the update of GU43 and this configuration was working fine with GU42.I can only get the Speaker Type selection to be selectable if I change my configuration in-game to use Miles 2D audio, which obviously isn't of any use in this scenario.I'm at a loss of what to do to correct this.***** Edit ... Hmm, nevermind. Seems there's a problem with my rear speakers in general not getting any sound at all. It just coincidentally happened to coincide with the update.

I keep a wav file around called 6-channel-id.wav to test my sound system after doing installs or changing sound cards.

This will not help on eq2 but we migh ask Sony to put a sound test into EQ2 that will do the same function.

6 chanel on my system is Front R, Front-L, back R, back L, center and woofer ie 6 location.

That functionality is built into the Sound dialog within Control Panel on Windows (at least on Vista). That's ultimately how I figured out that I wasn't getting any sound on the rear speakers at all. I've got a discontinued Logitech Z-5450 speaker system and though I've never had problems with this set (it's a replacement) my original set tended to lose the wireless signal to the back speakers. All I had to do in this case was reset the base and everything is working fine again.
