One thing that has definitely helped to hold my interest is the number of customizations and options we have. We dont need to download extended 3rd party User Interfaces to set up the game to feel right for us. Its one of the best things about the game that no one else seems to do.

Now even tho the game is 4 years old, the graphics still hold par today. Very complex, very detailed enviornments and characters.

I love that most of the characters talk. I miss the olden days where every NPC line had a voice actor for it. I wish we had a bit more of it but not to the extent where it has every NPC. However compare it to WoW. Its ALL text. And the only chat you hear now is 12 year old boys look at me pwn you. Not what I want to hear. EQ2 again has this right.

So what do you think makes EQ2 a better game for you than other MMO's?

Its just about as old as World of Warcraft. In any case the things I like about EQ2 is the diversity and complexity of classes the general hefty solidity of armor unlike most games were the armor feels more like a skin texture wrapped title to the model while eq2 armor moves like its actually something your wearing. I love the quest system in this game is still superiror to any other system in MMOs.

Sadly now extinct)

That and anywhere you can make a character anything close to a plate-clad "fairy berzerker" riding a teency tiny rhino and then give em a shrink spell that makes em look even tinier and have them actually kick butt there has to be a lot of chuckle factor around.

Some of the fun, kooky folks I've met... especially the ones that let me tease them mercilessly.

I think the guild banking system tops any I have ever seen in any game. It's incredible how nice it's been to play a game, and not have to purchase a separate account to run our guild bank. It takes all the administration drama out of running a successful guild.

Additionally, I have really, really enjoyed the areas I've seen in game thus far. Lots of people around, plenty of PVP to be had- and just all around fun.

~ It's Casual. I'm a full time student, so studies take a lot of my time away. Being able to log into a game, spend even a little bit of time doing something, and be able to get it done is increadibly nice.~ Diversity. The fact that the game has so many options to customize things. Don't like the music for the zones? Okay, use your own. Don't like the set of armor that you wear for stats? Buy something that looks good. Pick your voice over. Your combat art sounds. The character customization system is still top notch. It's all really, really good.~ The graphics. I've seem small little upgrades t my system over the last few years, including a brand new system to replace the old at one point in time. I can keep cranking things up, and it still looks very, very good. It can only continue to look better, which is scary.~ The Developers. Seriously, have you seen people so passionate about a game before? Nope. I haven't either.~ The Updates. We get a huge content patch with at least one cool feature added to the game every month. For a game that is reaching up in age of 4 years, that's impressive.I could go on, really. great game.

I love the people, it's EverQuest 2 that I found my all time favourite guild ever! It's such a fantastic guild that it keeps making me come back to the game! (and the server community is really good too)

The Lore. Norrath in EQ2 has an insane amount of depth to it. Constantly finding new tidbits of random conversation that intices me to run into yet another area and discover the lore and history of it. The little details. the fact that there are runic scriptures all over Norrath that actually MEAN something. Heck the carpets you fly around on even have a translation. The etchings in shields and sword blades actually translate into something. Check out the lore threads for more info on these.I played EQ1 and was really into the storyline and watching it Arc, Until gates of discord messed that up. It's fantastic to watch and interact with the Norrathian Lore again in EQ2.I love the atmosphere of EQ2. The only game that even comes close on atmosphere is Dark Age of Camelot. The devs have done a great job with EQ2 and they have taken it LEAPS and BOUNDS beyond what it was released as. And as for the updates, I eagerly await each month to see what that GU will bring (Secretly wishing for skeletal revamp but <shrug>.

Graphics : The way characters look. They are really well designed. except I don't like SOGA but don't care I use the original character look. Also there plenty of races and fully customized. You don't have to choose between 5 different faces, you create your own.

armors : even if not as many different armors as I'd like, they do look great

Improvements : We see SOE listens to gamers. Things just improved.

Choice : We can play any race with any class. and we can betray if we want the other class.

lore : I played EQ1 and loved the lore and so love the EQ2 lore too

classes : a lot and different ways of playing them. Plus, with the AA system, we really can customize our avatar with our play style.

raid : challenging, love it

The biggest bonus for me with EQ2 is that I can log in and immediatly start knocking out mobs, quests, or tradeskill stuff. I don't have to spend 2 hours LFG while I kite 1 mob for 8 min to kill it...then spend another 45 minutes getting to the zone and waiting for the group, then buffing, then getting to camp, etc. And speaking of camps, I love that the old style of camps are gone. I played a bard in EQ1 which helped with not looking at the same wall for 3 hours, but even as the puller it got boring. I love that groups in EQ2 are always on the move.

I love this post, lol! It seems when ever I check the boards I see something along the lines of "fix my class, nerf, why can't I dps, etc" it's nice to see a post about the good of this game. I've played EQ1, DAoC, SWG, LoTRO,ATiTD (lol, if anyone knows what that is), but have never played WoW, and I still think EQ2 is the best game made overall. EQ1 was fun but like someone mentioned I don't have time anymore to look for a group for hours. It is casuall and hardcore friendly, some complain it's too solo friendly but I'd like you to see me solo only gear on my 45 brig and see if it's even close to someone who groups alot. The game is beautiful, I always feel ther's something to do: quest, craft, fix my home, writs, see places I've never seen, start 20 alts and delete them when they hit level 10. lol.

This really is the only game I haven't gotten tired of really quick, well besides SWG the first year of release but that's a whole nother topic.

Of course there are those things that would be nice but overall no other game compares, so I just play it how it is and enjoy it.
