Hello everyone, been away for awhile and now I'm trying to get myself raid-ready again for RoK instances.

Before I usually just soloed or small grouped with some friends but we've started getting into raids and have joined a raid guild on our server. At the moment I'm one of only a very few tank-types that our guild seems to have. I've been off-tanking for now, but if I can re-gear myself correctly I might be able to step up and take a more active tanking role since we don't have a Guardian that acts as our MT.

I've completely run the WIS and STR lines on my Crusader tree, since mostly I've been playing back up and the WIS gave me some useful group-wide buffs.

My question(s) is this:

Should I respec my crusader tree and run my STR and STA lines completely and then fill as much of my WIS line as possible?

What armor should I be looking at getting in my upcoming levels (10% from 77, am planning on trying for 80 by the end of NEXT week). And are these pieces found on MOBs or are they Status buys?

Thanks for your time everyone, and for those of you on Lucan server, hope to see you out there!!

Stallanar

Raid ready will be fun for you.

You need max survivability, max blocking, absorbing, riposting, and health, there are plenty of adornments, good gear in instances, talk to your guild about getting the level 77 sets of sanctification, or ravaged onslaught. Get your Thuuga line quest done for your ring, and get your faction up at reet, jinisk, teren's grasp, and jarsath ni'ok or something, why? you need mending faction at reet, jinisk, highton, and you want purchase faction , as the gear you quest is good, gear you buy from faction merchante is better, and gear you instance for is best till you raid. check out what gear your top pallies are using, ask in game on chat, not here. There is a Paladin world wide channel to get links of gear , much better then asking here, cause you can actually see the stats in game.

I see the minimum as 4,4,8 in sta, int... other than that, the pallies are divided on what is better, either strength line for faster recast, or divine aura for emergency ward, and fear immunity from wisdom. Some are trying out trample for auto attacks and hate gain, (popping off trample, and holy ground is a hate monster i guess). I ll be respeccing my self before i give any advice in this area.

What armor should I be looking at getting in my upcoming levels (10% from 77, am planning on trying for 80 by the end of NEXT week). And are these pieces found on MOBs or are they Status buys?

Answered above. yes faction is better then quested, some even better then looted in instances, if you cant get the penitent greatshield to drop, or find the shield of the green dragon, then ther is a new one from jarsath that is really good. Again, check out the eq2players characters on main page, Its great to see what all the other pally's are sporting around.

Thanks for your time everyone, and for those of you on Lucan server, hope to see you out there!!

Good luck and have fun!!!

Stallanar

I agree with Naneeje but I would change out the armor sets. The sets are crap for the most part and you can easily find MUCH better pieces in terms of stats then the set ones. The only 2 set pieces im using are the Sanctification Shoulders and the ravaged Onslaught pants. However the leggs im changing out as soon as the price comes back down on the pair I want. (cant remember the name atm but they have a proc ward that increases power and adds a hit absorb)

Im using the atm

sallet of the reet knight (Blue sparkly collection quest item)

cloak of trepidation (CoA Drop)

Polished Deklium BP Lore (can be purchased cheap off Broker)

Spaulders of Sanctification (got from CoA)

chitin patterned bracers (from ROK quest I believe)

Radiant Luclin Ore Gauntlets (dont remember where think it was a quest in JW)

Raging leviathan girdle (Mob in Chelsith)

Greaves of ravaged onslaught (Boss in CoA)

Boots of the wastes hunter (the hunter quest line in JW & SF)

Weapons im using

Nathsar shortsword (end Boss CoA)

Penitient greatshield (from courts)

As far as the faction items I really havent seen anything better than what I have. there are a couple of nice Str items but not much I would call tanking gear.

I am Wis, Stam and Int line for aura and fearless moral Boss Mobs in RoK tend to fear a lot. I maxed out my HP gain and crit and Stam in my racial and blocking master and cure line on the other tree. I am currently working down the smite line but dont have quite enough AA atm. Hope this helps.
