mana regen producing hate

Ok, I've heard that our mana regen buffs generate hate.  What I'd like to know, is if anybody knows exactly why?  My theory is that the game is considering our giving power to people, as roughly similar to that of a healer healing people.  If my theory is right, is there any way to parse this?  Heck, since this seems to be part of our hate transfer, so it would be nice for raid leaders to be able to track what we are doing.

<p>No there is no way to parse this and yes debuffs and buffs generate aggro.   When my main tank goes down I am usually the very next person to die, even though I am typically around the 2500 dps range.  Buffs that affect the whole group generate good aggro, like cannibalize thoughts.  Intense focus being a stun and a mana drain generates good aggro, as does chronosiphoning due to the debuff component.</p><p>You can even just sit there and spam signet of intellect and coruscation with a pond wash belt on and generate good aggro that way.  Most people seem to have very little understanding of non-damage hate generation though.</p>

yeah i've noticed i die right after the mt, even though the ot should be next.  However what i'm most curious is if anybody knows how the mana regen generates hate.  its easy to understand why cannabilize thoughts does, and why intense focus and other do, when they stun, stifle, or otherwise debuff the mob. Still i'm curious about our mana regen, since i'm wondering if the game is considering the mana regained to be equivalent to healer agro.  I dont tend to through alot of  stuns and stifles as much at the mob, since I just get resisted, and since the mobs are epic, they are of limited usefulness.  But even if i dont do anything more than keep minds eye up and my group buffs up, with 1200 - 1700 dps, i'm down the instant the tank is down or mezzed.  This even though the dirge has mana regen buffs going, is dps'ing, and debuffing.  But i'm the one that pulls agro hard, while others dont.

I vaguley remember a long ago developer post about "power heals" being heals.  In terms of hate generation that would put them pretty low given the amounts.  Buffs though are huge, as anyone who accidently cast a group one during a pull can tell you.

Is it possible our hate transfer gives us all the hate back when the MT dies? I have no clue how that mechanic works, so Im taking a stab in the dark
