So I'm at my gf's house for the week and don't have EQ so I've been bored out of my mind while she is working. I just got done watching a PvP video of an assassin and I was shocked to see that their decap which is our sniper arrow seems to have a one second casting time. Not sure of the actual time just basing off the video but its very fast!!

This spell has to be cast while stealth and behind/beside the target so I'm curious. Does anyone have any reason on why our two spells which are very similar are actually so far off. Assassins are in love with their verson yet most rangers hate the sniper line because in PvP its casting time is so long its basically impossible to get off.

So anyone got any idea's on why ours has such a long casting time and the decap version is so fast?

Does their ability have knock-down?

Melee attacks all have shorter casting times than ranged attacks. Even our own.

Unfortunately...

Looking at CA progression, the Ranger counterpart actually would be our Storm (Rain/Shower) of Arrows line. Both where the top end lvl 50 special CA before any expansion was out.

If you look at it from that point of view, the power of both are comparable, just different in application. Decap needs stealth and back of mob, ist fast to cast and does huge damage on a single target. Rain has longer casting time and needs range, but doesn't need back or stealth and does high damage on multi targets. I think both have a recast of 3 min (2 with Str AP line end ability)

Different CAs, both powerful in their field of useage.
