Ahh... well, I had logged on for about 20 seconds before they went down... So I didn't get the notification. My bad.And I don't check the boards before I login. Whoops.

Am I the only one getting tired of the servers going down so often?? I mean [Removed for Content] is going on here?? The only time I get to do much playing is when I get off work in the morning. If these constant outages are to fix problems with LoN (as I have heard) then put that stupid thing on its own server. If it is to fix issues that the LAST update screwed up, then how about saving it up and doing it once a week so I can play the game I am PAYING for?? This crap is enough to make a person switch to WoW. Sorry for the rant Y'all, but this is getting to be to much.

Servers have gone down every monday through thursday at around 9 am cst for an hour or so since release. It's more a server maintenance, its been going on a lot longer than LoN has been around. Now those one or two hour server downtimes on friday nights for LoN updates really really [Removed for Content] me off.

Patch time normally happens weekday mornings at 7 AM PST. I wouldn't say every weekday morning, but it's best to assume every morning.

TheWarparty wrote:
Am I the only one getting tired of the servers going down so often??
Notice was posted on website. And, these downtimes used to be daily around the same time. And, last but not least, SOE guarantees 0% uptime. So you're getting 98% more than what you're paying for. Take a deep breath, grab a dose of patience, and enjoy the game.

They just said they guaranteed that you would not always have access to your account. Not a really big difference, but /shrug.

There are almost always several more downtimes very close to a new LU.

Anyone who tells you that the reason for excessive downtimes is LoN is full of poop. LoN updates, while frequent, come from an entirely different source, and those changes go live without the need for eq downtime - when they go live you just don't see it until the next time you relog. While I would imagine that there could be downtime in the event of a LoN loot card in-eq-game exploit, I have never seen that occur to this point.

There have been some massive changes to the game since the expac, as well as a very large influx of new players. And that is the cause of the higher-than-normal downtimes.

You heard wrong on the downtimes being only to fix LON, the 1 hour downtimes where in place way longer then LON has been in existance. As far as paying for it, read the terms of service for your account - it specificly states that the servers may not be available 7x24x365. Bottom line - deal with it or go to another game.
