What are your techniques for group play?

What roles do you play and what order do you set up your spell lines?

Really depends on the group setup and the dungeon/instance.On group setup :Weak Group - Easy Dungeon : Power Regen - DPS - Occasional stunsWeak Group - Hard Dungeon : Chain Stuns - Mezzes - Power Regen - DPSGood Group - Easy Dungeon : Power Regen - Stuns (only relevant on named mobs that they land) - DPSGood Group - Hard Dungeon : Power Regen - Stuns - Mezzes - DPSIn harder places (see deep Sebilis / Chardok) - Mezzes and Stuns are more important. There are other factors that come into play though. In many pickup groups you will get people who will break mezzes no matter what. I stop mezzing when they do that over and over. Also the quality of the tank plays a big part in what you offer - the weaker the tank the higher the effect of your stuns. (weaker tank stays up far far better with someone chain stunning).Number of healers, in some places 1 healer (even a good one) can have problems, where again stuns and crowd control can add alot of survivability. In T7 Nizara and CMM (almost) required a mezzer. In T8 I have not seen any place that requires one (except maybe in the deeper areas of Sebilis and Chardok - and there not necessarily so if the group knows the area well). Also depending on the group setup - hate management is a plus - depending on aa selection as well. You help the tank keep agro (again weaker the tank the more important it becomes) and also help other members stay lower on the mobs hate list.Additionally you will bring some benefits to healers if you have chosen the aa, but in a group situation I have always found these to be negligible. If the group has scout dps your dps buff will also be a nice addition to the groups overall dps.Hope this helps a bit------------

It comes down to the group. You will notice that every group will make you play a little different. Is the tank getting beat up badly? If yes .. focus on chain stunning and mezzing. If no, focus on keeping your reactives up for DPS while keeping an eye on who is using the most power (always make sure the healer is good). I like to only use mezz when bad things happen of if I know the tank is having problems holding aggro on multiple encounters... the way I see it is the tank can always wake up what he/she wants. It gets interesting when your group is low on DPS .. sometimes when this happens I will actually use charm while grouped. As long as your keep things in control everything should be find. make sure they understand there is always a chance charm will break and you should be fine. This is not always a valid option, but sometimes it is worth the added risks.

My recommendation would be to try to never mez if you can avoid it. We have 4 stuns, make good use of them.

Fighting one mob and an add runs up? Mindbend it and then deep/intense focus it, it's out of the fight for a good while that way. More than one mob? Encounter stun and pbae stun. Whole bunch of ungrouped mobs? Mindbend one, intense focus the second, encounter stun the third, when they're about to come unstunned pbae stun them.

In most group settings your good use of stuns obviates the need for a second healer and allows another dps to be brought instead. Depending on your style of play you may be able to add significant dps in your own right, particualrly if you have a decent weapon and go 4458 in the Str line.

I'm fairly gung-ho and so you may find getting a set of dispersion items to be of particular use in upping your survival if you go the same route.

Sash of the Nathsar Tribe (waist) Usually obtainable on broker for 1-2p

Ancient Bracers of Diffusion (forearms) Drolvarg Foreman in Karnor's Castle, unusual to see for sale on broker

Embroidered Sebilite Mantle (shoulders) 4p? Something around there, requires 40k Outer Sebilis Residents faction to purchase

Incidentally these also help in raid situations where there are frequent small aoe's or aoe's that dot you.
