I just downloaded the game over the weekend and had no problems for the first 30-60 minutes of game play. Soon after, I began getting the VPU recovery error and cannot stay in game for more than 15 seconds.

I updated my drivers to the 7.1 (recomended for EQ2), and although it seemed to rectify the error, it did not (I could play for about 10 minutes before crashing). I did a search here in the tech help forum, but all of the information regarding the issue dates back to 2006.

Did I miss something? Is there a fix that stops this error from occuring, or am I doomed to deal with it?

Vid card is x600 256Mb

Put graphics settings to balanced and turn off shadows. This fixed it for me.
