Heya all,Me and the wife are comming back to EQ2. Its been a long time (i was in beta). Dang things have changed. Here is the question. Can I take the download from one system and copy it to another? Instead of waiting for a second download/patch to complete?Would save us more then a few hours. Thanks in advance. Hope so =)

You should be able to copy most of the files from one to another system via your network. Make sure you download the patcher and EverQuest2.exe onto the other machine though. I thought I'd be a smart one and burn everything to a DVD once, and the .exe wouldn't work right until I reinstalled off the patcher.

Good idea with the dvd. Might need to do that myself. So I assume that a straight copy of all EQ2 program folders should do the trick?CHeers

Agree with above. I would do the disk install on both. Then download the patches once. Then copy the files over.

SC

You can just copy the Dir from one PC to another .. If the source has been played, delete all files in the cache folder (game likes to build the cache from scratch). I have done this and it worked fine.

My boyfriend and I started playing again recently and I installed and patched on my machine. Then I copied my entire directory through the network but every time he tried to run the .exe, it would try to completely patch the entire game (~65 hours worth or something). It was really frustrating. I didn't think I'd have any problems since I have done the exact same thing with WoW and Vanguard very recently. (We have a 10 gig bandwidth limit per month). Next time I'll be sure to do some research since it must be touchy and I didn't do something right (probably not installing the patcher separate).

I have copied the entire EQ2 directory from an XP machine to a Vista machine and it worked fine. Actually, it worked better then fine... when I first set up the vista machine and installed EQ2 on it, I had issues with vanishing floors and wire frame buildings in RoK. I reinstalled twice and it would not clear up. As a last resort, and to avoid the third resinstall and lengthy download time, I just copied from the XP machine and TA DAAA! It worked like a charm and no more graphic anomalies.

So... yeah.
