I'm at level 14 now and and have been spending most of my time in TD. While on that first newbee island, I did not begin a tradeskill. I assume sage is the one I want. Is there on in TD? If not, where do I go. Also, did I read correctly that a necro should harvest anything and everything? Does this mean mining, logging, plants, etc? Just want to make sure I am clear on that. I have collected quite a bit of stuff but my bank is full and I have one backpack and pouch that are nearly full. I have been selling off a lot of what I find. Should I be saving anything in particular to the sage trade? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Johnec, perhaps I can explain. There are five harvestable items, of which one is food. If you don't make your own food, you don't need to harvest food from the bushes. The main harvestable items are:

1. Wood from forestry

2. Vines and roots from gathering

3. stone and iron ore for mining ( these are separately harvested items)

4. furs and skins from traping.

and as noted above, bushes ,which involve more gathering.

There are 8 tiers of harvestable items. You have to be a certain minimim skill for each tier. In addition, your harvest skills ( mining, forestry, and gathering and traping) are all level dependant. In other words, you can only raise your skills up to a certain amount for each level. That maximum amount increases by 5points for each new level.

As for your necro, Sage is a good choice because you can create your own spells. However, you might be better served joining a guild who has some high level sages, who will make the spells for you IF you provide the ingredients and money for the fuel. This is certainly up to you.

I prefer to save most of what I harvest, but I did sell some of the stuff once I no longer need that teir. For example, tier one spells require tier one items up to level 9, I think. Level 10-19 spells would require teir 2 items. Thus, once I have scribed all of level 9 or 10 spells, I might sell any extra level one tiered harvestable items.

Hope this all helps.

Mortel, Level 69 Necro

Level 69 Sage

Permafrost Server

House of Rising Phoenix Guild

I have only one char (my first one ) who can gather all (beside fish). All my new toons skill up only gathering, mining and lumbering, mainly to do some quests later in the game or to bridge the regen pausing and of course for the occasional rare.
