Just one of those things that WoW really did 100 times better than EQ. Can we please get a better dance, or multiple dances? The one we have just flat out SUCKS!

well, they started it with fae, sarnak and arasai funny the sarnak one lol but I was dissapointed by the arasai one :'(I don't know if it's easy for them to chance the race's danse and if it's necessary . I'd rather them to focus one usefull things like coercer's spells XD

They need to have dance moves/ that one can do and more that can be learned through obscure quests <_< not necessarily high level just hard to find the starter. (hidden in an unpopular corner of a dungeon/an assistant to a questgiver/ hiding in a cake....)

I concur we need more/better dances for the older races too. I don't mind what we have right now, but it still makes me sad I've seen better in other games...

While it isn't related to dancing, although it does look more like a middle school spaz out then a real dance, could we also get funnier voice emotes for the older races to? I still laugh everytime a sarnak does the "Out of the way squishies" yell. If it wasn't worth the time and money to reroll I would remake my guard a sarnak just for that emote alot.

Yeah our older races do look like a spaz dance, or a dance by someone that has never seen dancing before. If our old dance move were at least half way decent even if it were generic, I probably wouldnt be griping, but the human dance SUCKS!

I like the idea of questing for different dance moves tho.

Although I'd be totally happy with just a better dance and flat out delete the spaz dance, we can take it a step farther and have "/dance <type>" like a /mood <type>, like /dance limbo, /dance tango, /dance moonwalk, /dance linedance, /dance macarena, /dance chicken etc. It would be kind of cool to have two players interact with a dance but I can see that would be very difficult to get working between animations, motion targets, tweens, blending interactions, probably more trouble than its worth. And although Im always amazed by the ammt of new content the developers put in with every Game Update, I dont really understand why they leave some stuff that really is just completely terrible and leave it as is!

For example. Skies! Have you ever seen a cloudless blue sky when its pouring rain? Me either. Skies look pretty good otherwise and I appreciate having weather effects, but sky needs to match the weather effects. Hell I've even seen an actual in game solar eclipse! The moons and starfieds are absolutely beautiful, as well as the real time transitions from day to night, but the cloudy skies, and shooting stars! They take the time to build that in, but no time to give us a stormy sky when its raining. Seriously, whats up with that? Its ONE texture. Not a new one, just redo an old one. And this to me is MINOR stuff. Replace a texture, ooh hard. Replace a crappy dance move, again, not rebuilding the entire engine of the game. What is so hard about doing ONE OR TWO things that are so vitally important to the look and feel of the game?

Ok im on a rant. If they ever plan on redoing the animations in detail with multiple dance / racial dance moves, we should have a ROCK PAPER SCISSORS animation along with a /rps (Rock Paper Scissors) command so you can challenge someone to a match of Rock Paper Scissors. Winner does /cheer and loser does /doh or it just says Tie. And a Rock Paper Scissors animation, bang your and against your fist 3 tims, wow thats gotta take a couple gigs of RAM on everyones computer and talk about data overload, it will really bog down a players connection so bad it lags the servers! Really, how much work would that take?

Its amazing how much content something small like that adds to the game. A game can be the most beautiful game in the world but if players lack the tools to interact with other players, or if something about the world doesnt feel quite right (terrible dances or no clouds in the sky dumping rain, what did a fire hydrant get run over by a drunk?) it really comprimises the whole experience.

/rant

Nope, I laugh about it too. Dances are something that's been discussed since the game came out, but it's nice to see a little variety now... even if my arasai girls look like they're constipated. (They even wipe their brow when they're done.)

The Sarnak Dance is a real life dance.

New Zealands Māori dance "Haka"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haka

And my vote for more dances! Only Froglok look good with the "standart" dance.

Okay, real funny and silly, but good

And not only solo dancing, interaction with other players with an Permission pop up.

Give the Trolls a chance to dance with their halfling brides

I think the Arasai dance is awsome The way I see it is that they want to demonstrate that they are soo not like their 'goody' cousins. Just look at the frilly dance of the fae. I believe the arasai think they're just too cool to dance so they don't even bother to make an effort, lol.But yeah, the generic dance is just too lame. Scary even :p

Goth and emo aren't the same thing. At all. But yeah, we definitely need new dances.
Why not make this kinda thread a sticky? The daces thread, a sitting thread, a new armour thread.. they come back enough. why not just sticky one of each?

Sittable chairs probably isnt ever gonna happen, unfortunately. Too much work for the effort and too many engine changes. All im suggesting is to replace the currently existing dance with something that doesnt look like a wasp got in my armor.

But if I had a choice to do new dances, or fix more important issues, like things that really [Removed for Content] people off, bugs, mechanics, I'll take those over a dance, sittable chair, or better sky as those are more cosmetic.

Sylken@Najena wrote:
Goth and emo aren't the same thing. At all. But yeah, we definitely need new dances.
No they're not, but they're similar enough. Emo was spawned of all of the 13-year-olds who wanted to be "goth" to express the darkness in their souls at the horrors they have in life and how terrible everything is for them because mommy won't get them the newer model of their cell phone. I once saw a guy (maybe 15 years old) roaming around in a mall wearing a purple cloak. When he was complimented by a friend of mine who loves attending renaissance faires and such, the guy scowled and was very rude in telling him that it has absolutely nothing to do with that and so forth. Ever since then, emo kids are simply members of the Purple Cloak Brigade. When I see someone being emo, I often remark that they need a purple cloak. The Arasai amuse me greatly for this. One day I'll get a purple cloak for my troubador so she can go do her emo dance in Qeynos Harbor for all of the people to understand the darkness in her heart. And her need for cookies.

While I can see why people want more and better dances (and why not) I would like to address the complaints about what dancing on a horse looks like with a simple suggestion that you go and try and dance on a horse without looking like you have a wasp in your clothing.
