HiI cannot leave td on the griffon to butcherblock. I get the following message"Everquest II cannot load your next zone (exp03_rgn_butcherblock) Please exit Everquest II and ensure that the current game options re set in launchpad. If this is an optional,adventure pack or exspansion zone, ensure that the corresponding optional download set is enabled."The griffon disapears and i end up floating in midair. I exited the game, reloaded the launchpad. Clicked preferences and ticked all the boxes ( for optional downloads and audio packs and clicked download immediately) this took a further 1 hour 30 mins.After that i logged back in and tried griffon again. Still failed. Logged back out and reloaded, this time done a full file scan. No problems were detected, logged back in and I still get same message when i use griffon. Next i deleted the file exp03_rgn_butcherblock and re scanned. This re dowloaded the file. After loggin in the same thing happens.Since then I have tried some general stuff like defragging hard disc and have shut down PC and restarted. Still getting same message.Probable just blind also, but I cant find anywhere that says to download all the exspansions. I originally purchased EQ2 in 2005, but didnt play the game untill 3 weeks ago when i purchased DL of all exspansions.If this is covered somewhere else I apoligise and any help would deff be appreciated.TAChippy

Sorry, can't help with your problem. But I would suggest rolling another toon that doesn't live in that expansion. That way you'll be able to experience most of the game while someone with more intelligence than me can get you a solution. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Quick suggestion, run a search of your EQ2 folder and search for any file containing the name butcherblock. Delete all of those files and then rerun the patcher, it SHOULD download them all again. It sounds like you've got a corrupted file somewhere, or your game thinks you don't have access to the EoF expansion.

Before reading your post above i copied the everquest2.exe file to new directory and started re downloading the game. I kinda thought i must have some corrupted files somewhere. I have also got another problem which i mention in a second. A player ingame explained i can move to Sinking Sands and then Freeport via the carpet which i have done. And now i have moved my home city to Neriak. The next problem is Nektulous. Part of the zone is missing, the docks area in particilar. I cant talk or interact with any NPC or fight any mobs. And when you run past the path which linked rest of zone it is missing, and you fall through world. This chucks you back on bridge by commonlands entrance and I can carry on doing the quests from there. The rest of the zone is fine. So not only is butcherblock a problem but nektulus also. I am hoping doing a full download again may fix this problem. Got about another 6 hours to go on download.Anyway thanks for help in post and to ones who helped in game <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Some how some way your files are either incomplete or corrupt. Hopefully redownloading them fixed it but if not, please reply back.You may want to try and disable the firewall, and antivirus software if they are installed. You may also want to that try running a clean boot, by making sure all unnecessary background programs are disabled. Please follow the directions below on how to accomplish this.To disable background programs. 1. Select the START button.2. Select RUN.3. Type in "msconfig" (without the &quot<img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />4. Press OK5. Select the STARTUP tab.6. For Windows 98/ME, uncheck all boxes EXCEPT for SCANREGISTRY and SYSTEM TRAY. If you use Windows XP, click on the disable all button.7.Hit apply and then OK. Restart the computer when prompted, then try the game again.

After 24 hours and re downloading eq2, logged in. I zoned from Neriak to Nektulous. Got booted from game with error message"Everquest 2 has detected an unrecoverable error and must shut down<Verify> E:liveeq2gameclientscrGameScene.cpp (4112)Failed to create zone: Suggestion: Please do a full file scan from the patcher"I done a full file scan got same message trying to log in. Then i compared the files from my original eq2 folder to the new one I had just downloaded. Looking at the files starting with Nektulous i noticed that i have 11 files in original folder and only 7 in the new downloaded version. At this point I cut and pasted the 11 files into a temporary folder and re ran the patcher from original game. It downloaded 7 of the files and when i logged in i had same message as above. A friend just sent me the 4 missing files using MSN and when i logged in the zone for Nektulous works fine, there is no longer half the docks area missing and i can interact with NPC and mobs. The 4 files it has failed to download are as follows:nektulous_epic01_cauldroncove.vpk / nektulous_epic01_cauldroncove_SG.vpk / nektulous_mini_SndA.vpk / Nektulous_SG.vpk I have now checked my original eq2 /paks directory which contains 994 files in total. The newly downloaded eq2 /paks folder contains 731 files. So to me it appears that my that some of my original game files are corrupt and that my eq2.exe file is possible at fault as it does not download all the files needed to play the game. My eq2.exe file is 728kb dated 25/9/07 ver 1.0.0.1Any suggestions as to how i get the patcher to download the missing files. I have also checked the preferences and ticked all options to download additional game content and sound files. And i have run complete file check from there.When i downloaded eq2 again I did disable my anti virus but i did not disable the firewall. Running Windows XP and I have disables some start up applications.

You're going to want to either disable that fire wall, or add our software to the exception list. It's likely more helpful to simply add the game to their list, so the firewall will ignore it.

I also see people not reporting back and assume it fixed it for them as well!

Hi Ok, I have just got home from work. I added eq2.exe to the exceptions list on my firewall. Re ran the patcher and it did not download any additional files so when i logged in I was kicked out of the game with the error that i reported in post above. (I camped last night in Nektulous using my original downloaded game files)I then ran msconfig and used the disable all function and restarted pc. Then re ran the patcher with a full file scan and it did not download the additional files and therefore crashed again when i logged back in. I then disabled the firewall completely and tried again. still chucks me out of the game. My newly downloaded game is missing 263 files which the patcher is not finding.

just another point to mention, asked my friend who plays eq2 to check his everquest2/paks directory, he has 1081 files.So I have only 731 in newly downloaded and 994 in my original. After doing the above suggestions about anti virus and firewall the patcher will still not download the missing files.Anyone have anything else they can suggest?

You need to figure out what it is that's doing this.. It's possible it can be your router, and it's possible it can be security software. That is not normal behavior for the launch pad and it's being caused by something on the machine. You can post your system specs and your MSInfo if you want me to take a look..

Also: avgcc.exe c:progra~1grisoftavgfre~1avgcc.exeAVG is very active on your machine at the moment. AVG is not bad software, but it is a likely cause of this issue. Since it's a free software, please uninstall it, simply as a test, reboot and try the game again.

K, I removed both the programs and re ran patcher and done a full file scan. It still did not download any additional files.I just compared the files with butcherblock in the name with my friend who plays in the /everquest2/paks directory.He has 3 files ==> exp03_rgn_butcherblock_sg.vpk, exp03_rgn_butcherblock.vpk, snd_exp03_amb_butcherblock.vpkon my pc I only have exp03_rgn_butcherblock.vpk He has just shared the 2 missing files with me using MSN, i am going to log in and try to zone into butcherblock to see if this is fixed that zone.If this works i understand it is only a temporary fix as there are possible more zones i cannot access as I may have other missing or corupted files in my eq2 folder. I am only lvl 29 at present.If you can see any other problems or you require any additional information on my pc let me know what you need. If my router is possible the cause, I use a netgear DG834GT, I have WIFI on my pc but I am using a direct cable connect (RJ45) as pc is near router. EDITI just logged in and headed over to butcherblock and zoned in no problem.

I was posting on another thread till i seen this, this is interesting as i only have that one .vpk butcherblock file also... Im getting the files from a friend and i am going to try this also, i will post shortly to let you know how it turned out...EDITI was just able to zone into Butcherblock again, its confirmed to be the two missing files stated above that cause this error.

Quick update here really. I just zoned into Steamfont mountains. The game booted me out. Now my character is trapped in steamfont as I am missing the files. It seams to be the files with _sg in name that is missing. Anyone else have or had similar problems that could maybe shed some light on why I cant seem to download all the files. I am currently getting my mate to transfer all files with steamfont in them across to my pc using msn sharing folder. I tried all the suggestion above about removing firewall, antivirus, clean booting etc. Doesnt make any difference. My router is netgear as stated above. I not sure how to reconfigure the router if that is causing problems, not sure why it would block some of the files from downloading in first place. It always worked well for everquest1, star wars galaxies, world of warcraft, lotro, vanguard, etc etc.

I have had a look in my PAK folder, where all the files for the expantion packs are held, it seems i dont actualy have half of the files i should have, and the patcher is not downloading them, zones half drawing and such, things not working in the zones, all worked when i got a friend to give me the missing files, but i must have around 4Gb of files missing from the game. What the hell is going on.
