Been yearning for more information since you saw the teaser on eq2players? Mum and Kaisha ran amok over on Test server to get you more in-depth information on things that will make crafters (and noncrafting packrats!) go "wheeeeee!"First, join Mum as she discovers first-hand, in a very Mum sort of way, some of the changes in Qeynos, especially with the Ironforge Exchange. While it is barely more than a teaser, consider this a light appetizer before diving into a very solid meal of reviews.Managed to digest that little bit ok? We'll try you on something a little more solid, with an overview of the crafting-related bits from the patch notes.Still hungry for more, are you? Want to know exactly what crafting class gets which what from which RoK faction vendor before you spin in circles trying to decide which faction/crafter to work on first? I can't promise you won't be spinning in circles more (from excitement) once you're done reading it, but join us for a GU43 Recipe Preview that includes a very solid number of new recipes.I hope you left room for dessert, as you should know by now that if there's one thing Mum is good at, especially with Kaisha lending an artistic hand, it is dessert. Take a look at the GU43 Image Gallery, filled with GU43 furniture and fashion!

Question on the adornments ... Do they overwrite existing adornments or are they in addition to them? For example, I have the Wizard Fabled epic item Dragon's Marrow. If I already have the Smoldering Magi's Second Sight adornment on it granting me a +2% spell crit, will the new 30-minute Sage adornment, Sathirian Scroll of Combat, add an additional +3% to that or will it erase the 2% adornment?

Not that I don't trust you, Kurgan, but I think I'd like to have some sort of official word before I add a temporary adornment on top of one that costs around 40p.

WOOT thanks! Love all the additions!

Am I the only one that thinks that crafting items are getting too good? The charm item is leaps and bounds above anything else that is currently in game for that slot.

Overall these do look like nice changes, I agree. But, I do have one comment.

I did notice that weaponsmiths get all consumable items for recipes. This is well and good..we need more consumables. But, Armorers can apparently make a couple whole new suits of armor. I guess I'm forced to admit I'm semi-disappointed with what weaponsmiths get. Yes, the consumable temporary "adorns" are nice, don't get me wrong. But to be honest, I would have loved to have seen let's say 3 new consumables, and three new tier 8 weapons.

Anyway, overall it does look nice though. I know I'll be wanting to hit the zones where the Chromatic essences drop, both the charm slot items, being a paladin, are things I'll probably want. As an addendum, please don't take this as a flame in general, or even as a flame of the temporary "adorns" weaponsmiths are getting. Guess it's a "Hey..um...how about some new weapons sometime" request. Believe me, I keep looking at the recipes and other tradeskill bits being rolled in with GU43, and keep thinking about the different things I do want.

These aren't a new concept, just new "models" so to speak. I currently use 10 minute duration adornments atop the fabled +% riposte adornment on my sword. These are the same thing, just a half hour instead of 10 minutes, which makes them more desirable. It does actually go on the item inasmuch as you click on the adornment, then select the item, and it only stays on you when that item is equipped, but it doesn't overwrite anything that is permanently applied. Also, unlike the permanent ones, you can apply these even when the item is damaged.

I just read the page about the recipes and they are all great and nice ...BUT... all of them are catered to the higher level player and crafter. Where are the recipes to benefit the lower lvl characters? They could still require faction and higher trade skills. There are many high lvl items available through faction merchants, crafting and quests and raids throughout Kunark..and thats great. Now how about the devs start to give some new stuff the upcoming ranks of players can use before this game becomes even more top heavy with content? If we don't adequately take care of the lower levels we may loose them to other games. Maybe we should take a lesson from RL and look into the causes of over aging within a population in a restricted geographical area. If the game is not handled better in the near future we will end up with an aging set of players (level wise) and content and will lose a lot of players that could support the middle part of the game. As it is, a lot of the middle zones are nearly deserted. Many a times I do a /who in places like EL or Feerrott and get 4,5,8 players found..4 player in an area where there used to be 30, 40 or more. If the development team doesn't provide newer content for those zones to entice new players this game in the long run will be doomed. To just bank on high lvl content is i.m.h.o. short sighted at best. There would be nothing wrong to add crafting recipes to lower tiers and even recipes to higher tiers that are intended for lower lvl characters but require faction to make..an example would be a great (stat wise) T4 robe that would need common T4 rares but 20k or more kunark faction. This would be an incentive for lower level crafters to make them, get faction using the same mechanism for faction that is in place for the epic and will result in an item / set that is superior to the regular T4 item..I used T4 as an example it could be T3 and up as anything below that would be of no use ..people burn to fast through the content and TD already provides superior goods.J.C.

As such, yes, they were/are targeted at the higher levels, since the faction quests involved require level 70+ crafters.A desire for more at lower levels would be something to discuss either in the tradeskills forum, or submit constructive suggestions via /feedback.

Much to look forward to, thanks Niami and the dev team the armorer cloak is something I can really get excited about grinding towards. Before this post I was not overly excited by this GU but now, vroom vroom.
