So whats the word on this loot change now?

Is it going to be the ONLY method to decide loot now, or will the current lotto system still be kept where we players can choose it?

Is the system going to recognize what classes can actually use an item? because I see a lot of greedy players clicking Need for anything and everything that drops.

It's been said by a couple of Devs that this is in addition to what already exists.

Well I checked it out, but I would be much happier if on NO-TRADE items that are class specific, that the program only recognize those classes and that only those classes in the group/raid get a NEED button, and everyone else only get GREED. Then if no one from that class presses NEED, it goes to the GREED rolls. That would take care of a lot of problems.

What I'd like to know is who press wich button.

If it is known who push need and who push greed, that will alow to put things straight with the character hitting need every time, even on things he obviously cannot use.

We are going to get some additional whack a mole time on the loot windows, nothing more.

Are they guildies? Is it a pug?In pugs you want to clearly state how loot will go before you commence mob beatdown. In example:Anyone who needs loot as a upgrade (i.e. will wear it) use the NEED button. Those who dont need the loot for upgrades use the GREED or DECLINE buttons. In this scenario, if an item a mage in the group wants but no one else wants drops then the mage hits need and 5 others hit greed. Mage wins.Second item drops, no one wants (as upgrade) so they all hit greed - loot is randomed and tank wins.Either way, pug or guild group, you should explain which loot method you are using and how to use it before the group gets underway. If they understand it, then it will work wonderfully. This is a welcome feature for me as every time I am in a group (pug or not) we sit there with the timer asking *anyone? anyone need?*.. then we wait.. and wait.. and sometimes the timer runs out and I haven't declined or rolled on the item.. making me force a decline.Only to find out that no one needed it, didnt speak up and all but me rolled. No big deal most of the time, but dang it I am tired of passing or auto declining on loot, that no one needed, that would sell for decent coinSometimes everyone will speak up and we then either decline or roll.. but it's still a time sink to even ask. Especially in guild groups where you trust the people you are grouping with (usually more then pugs).

still doesn't solve the problem Loot hogs will always push need button any way even though they dont need it.

Its a nice system yes, I was once in a PUG once where everyone said its need before greed and we ask everyone if one needed it, and a item i needed dropped, the hog kept it, and later on an item actually needed dropped and I got it on a roll, and he gave me nasty tells and called me bad names, I wound up giving to him to shut him up.

the point is loot hog will find a way around this system They push the need button every time on items that sell for alot unless its no trade.

Boot them or master loot the rest of the instance. Its not that hard to do.In your example the *hog* would have gotten a huge boot out of the group if I was group leader. Not only did he not get booted, you gave him the second item instead of putting him on your ignore list. The system will work wonderful for alot of guild groups and save ALOT of time. Even in those pugs where people are actually decent. For the rest, there is /kick and /ignore or master loot

Then say in group that you could use that iteam, if they don't answer you, say it again, most of the time the rest of the group will start to gang up on that Hog. If for some reason the leader does not kick the Hog if they don't give up the iteam, then leave the group and /ignore the leader and the hog... being shure to let the other group members know why.

::EDIT::Also if the rule for the group at the outset is hit Greed for everything unless you accually need it, and there is feedback on who hit what. Then the Hog will be easy to spot and kick.
