Yes, I AM /bug'ing this in game...Has anyone else noticed that the voice overs are loosing their variety?I'm not sure about the males, but it is very noticeable with the females. It started with the Griffin trainers on the Griffin towers. All the human females now have a rough gravelly voice that would fit much better on a dwarf or a barbarian. Now I'm noticing in the Q crafting instances... the Froglok female rush order giver in Castleview and the Woodelf female rush order giver in the Ironforge Exchange both have this voice.I did notice before when the Griffin trainers had the voice and the rush order givers did not, so this is apparently spreading. Is there anyone else noticing this? Is on purpose, or is this a bug?- Katsi

YES! We call it "smokers voice". We recently noted that several attractive females in Kylong Plains are afflicted with this voice. Rather discerning when you see a pretty young girl and when she opens her mouth you think she is about to start coughing up a lung.

Yes, Ive seen this too with every female from ROK to present whenever a new female has been added in. Most noticably, on Elrossi day. That purty gal sounded like she was gonna need a trachaonotomy.

Personally, I think it's because someone is getting lazy somewhere. Instead of recycling voices, they have one guy in a department somewhere that is just dragging the same voice file on EVERY new female voice.

Haven't noticed that yet, though I have noticed in the Sunken City where the dark elf female pirates end up with male voices or the males with females. That is just wierd.

I turned on my sound in Gfay the other day while getting ready to do some crafting writs on my carpenter. I strolled up to the male Fae who gives the rush orders. Instead of a light, happy voice he sounded like a barbarian who had spent the previous day screaming his head off and smoking every cigarette in sight. Needless to say, I was quite taken aback. I thought "Well I'll just get a normal order since this guy is obviously not a real Fae - probably some kind of freeport spy!", so I turned to the friendly lady beside him. When I hailed her, I thought for sure she must also be some freeport spy - surely she was a crossdressing ogre in disguise!

A friend of mine and I had a conversation about this just the other day. It's a little funny, but mostly terrible. I wish they would do something to help out these poor NPCs - lozenges, anyone?

A pleasant surprise greeted me this morning, when I logged in, and Executor Adept Sal'ynelle (the wood elf in Ironforge Estate) spoke to me with her original voice!I have not yet checked the others, but may it was because I /bugged her.- Katsi

I hope it is fixed soon because the high pitched voiced Frost Giants and elves with dwarf voices are freaking me out.

OH I hope they fix it. There has definatly been some sort of problem with the npc voices.

There was some elfin woman in one of the Qeynos tradeskill instances that had taken to talking like a male gnome... it was odd to say the least. I remember those crossdressing pirates in Sunken City too heh.

Recently, NPC's have started loosing their actual scripts, too. You hail one and read, all the while the NPC is saying something along the lines of "Hail!" in that horrible voice.

Maybe they've just stopped hiring voice actors, and to compound the problem the files for voice-overs are being moved aroud with server maintainance? /shrugIt's kind of annoying, the speaking was really cool.
