betraying for epic

I was considering betraying to get my epic.  To get my swashy epic i would have to defeat the encounter with a pick up group.

<p>betray just so you can get brig epic cause its easier (and really not all that easier imo)??  the pirate jones encounter thread has a lot of great advice and you can beat it with a pug...but hey, if you want to betray, by all means do it.  just seems silly.</p>

<p>b/c its not broken?</p><p>honestly, its a fabled EPIC wep.  do you just want it to drop off a ^ mob? </p><p>every other tier you have had to have a RAID force to get it, and the quest series was LONG and usually very painful.  this one took, um.... like, a few hours at most to get the final guy - and you complain about it?</p><p>EPIC weps have never traditionally been for the casual gamer to get right away, now they are.  it's far from easy, but getting 1 group seems much easier than a full raid force.. and its a very nice wep, regardless of all the people who seem to think it's just not that great... you do need a solid group, if you have 6 level 80s who just button mashed mindlessly and have no skill at their actual classes, yeah - you are screwed.  try getting people who are good (not just people YOU think are good) to help you.</p><p>i think everyone will complain abuot something until they just but the Easy Button in.  whiners. </p>

I would just like our final fight to be on par with the other classes.  I help an sk get his and there was a lvl 74 and lvl 78 in the group and it was a cake walk

<p>their isn't anything wrong with our last fight.  only thing soe should do is make it so the bird is easier to target to get the mezz going...after that, the fight is trivial with aoe blocks and good players.  </p>

I agree the fight is not THAT hard, with a proper group setup and good players that you can trust. Especially if you use the trick to clean the adds before, you are only left with Jones and the parrot. BUT there are many bugs that can make it a nightmare, the most common being parrot popping under the bridge, or bugs in the encounter script itself. Maybe it's not our epic that's too hard to get, but other classes's epics that are too easy <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Compared to the previous prismatic series those quest lines are rather easy IMO.

Btw, seems they fixed the add clearing trick.  Tried to do it last night and we couldn't even hit the closest group with an aoe that had a 10m range (were able to pull them using the same ae a few days ago). Anyone else able to confirm it?

This is meant to be a group obtainable item, but you need a dedicated group preferably from a level 60+ guild so they can get pots and quite basically if you can get this now its probably just a short few steps from your mythical. This is meant to be to group attainable gear but pretty much requires you to be in a 60+ guild preferably with top end gear and a very tight group.Its near impossible to get anyone to help because the encounter is known to be stupid tough, and with the changes to the adds I see no real hope now. Either take out the bird and tone down the ae,  or get rid of the adds. The wedding instance is about as hard than any other epic fights I've helped on - having this at the end of ours for what is now known to be a rez-fest for many raiding guilds make it hard to even start putting  a group together to do this especially when you need high skill and specific classes to have a hope.
