I am considering the E8400 CPU after all, but the 680i requires a Bios flash in order to use the new Wolfdale processors. My question is, can I use that processor to boot up the new computer so that I can flash the motherboard to fully utilize the new processor? Did that make sense?Just to clarify, it's the EVGA brand 680i.

If I read this correctly, you plan to assemble a new computer centered around Intel's e8400 CPU and an EVGA nVidia 680i chipset motherboard. EVGA has its own forums. You should be able to find threads devoted to e8400 set-up and compatibility (or lack thereof). Try that first. You might also wanna read recent motherboard comments/reviews at NewEgg.
