View Full Version : How long do the developers think we are going to play a game with broken mechanics?
<p>1) Revive Zerging - People hit the revive button while their groupmates are in PVP combat. They do not have to wait for immunity tick down and jump right back in to the fight. Don't give me the "dont fight next to a revive point" revive points are all over and their is no way to have a long fight without someone reviving a few seconds away.</p><p>2) Pet following still doesn't work!!!!!!! I dont even play a pet class and never will but I still see peoples pets right next to me as the player has left my track screen.</p><p>3) t8 Outright resists. The only way a caster has any chance 1v1 against a melee is getting extremely lucky that one of their spells didnt get resisted after the first 3 do. (or the melee simply died of laughing at the resists and had to go to the bathroom mid fight)</p><p>4) Jungle NPC Disabling Strike still hits for 6k hitpoints in PVP. <- still broken (how long did it take for them to reduce this?)</p><p>5) PVP Writs - how many people have to quit / exile. How many posts have their deleted off of the forums about this? JUST FIX IT</p><p>Stop creating broken content and some lame card game. <b>SPEND A WEEKS TIME FIXING PVP MECHANICS!</b> </p>

If my memories, we are goin on 3 years and still strong. If they would have had their [Removed for Content] together when the game was released, we would have had a bigger population, I bet. But as it is now, well...MMOs seem to be permanently broken. Comes with the genre. some are more broken than others, but there is always something that isnt properly balanced or flat out broken.

Yeah it does seem as if the mmo's are not as easy to make as we would like it to be.Atelast not when you go for broke like soe did with this massive gameNo secret that i somewhat feel abit sorry for the dev's sometimes..Trying to fit a square peg in a round hole and all.But then i look at my creditcard transcripts at the end of the month and suddenly i dont feel so sorry again <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />" />_Cheers
Well if SWG is any indication, around 5 years.

And when will people realize that whining and moaning on the forum wont change anything ? And this is good so. Imagine they would change anything the whiners on this forum demand! The game would be unplayable in 2 weeks! Sure there are some broken things, but if you feel they should be changed write a /feedback or /bug ingame and explain why!P.S. Resists are not broken, some people are just not intelligent enough to figure out that without rising their casting skill they are not intended to hit everything every time! How often do i get resisted with 500 subj/disruption ? maybe 1 out of 20 times....

((Im guessing that 'lame card game' has made them more money in the past 3 months than the entire subscriber base's monthly account fees all year.I know atleast 10 people off the back of my hand who put down more than 100$ on virtual playing cards, and some who even spent 400$. (and its only been out for 3-4 months and they are already on Expansion pack... 2? 3?Dont forget, the MASSIVE number of EQ1 players who play it. Truly its HUGE.

YOU do not pvp by urself enough to realize a problem if you really <i>are</i> a caster. im guessing ur a rogue. </p><p>Maybe its just sorcerers that got nerfed to get rediculous resists after raising the ratio on manashield. <b>Change Manashield from 2 power for 3 damage to 3 power taken per 2 damage and remove (or greatly reduce) resists ffs.</b></p><p>Some of you keep saying a specific time frame... not sure whats going on there. if you really think this game is perfect and dont ask for change on the things you think could be better (pvp writs and revive zerging anyone?), good for u. im guessing you are fine earning the same minimum wage pay from your job that u have been working at for the past 2 years because you dont have the heart to ask for a raise.</p>

Arctura is probably right, LON must bring a lot of cash, probably at a reasonnable and timely development cost. The point is it's rather frustrating to see regular updates/new content for LON, while it sometimes takes ages to see pvp issues adressed, and while many annoying bugs / performance issues (not all pvp only related) are still in game. It sometimes gives the feeling that develoment time goes in LON instead of fixing eq2 bugs, though it's probably not the case "IRL"... I don't play LON, and I don't pay my monthly fee to see new LON content added. If LON generates a lot of money invested to improve/maintain the regular eq2 game, then I'm all for it. If my money goes in LON (to make even more cash out of it) at the expense of the game I play, then it's not OK. And probably the truth is somewhere else (eq3 ?).

I know crack addicts that spent more than that a week to open up their packages of goodies.

I wouldn't be that optimistic though, 2012 seems a more realistic schedule, considering the time required to test such a change deeply <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />
