Okay so awhile back I played EQII and had the same problem, unfortunately I couldn't get any help as to fixing it. Well ultimately I ended up just quitting the game which was sad because it was fun. Here's the situation. Last night I downloaded the all in one game after completely uninstalling EQII from a while back. I woke up today ready to play and sure enough I got in. I was all excited just playing away on the beginners island and even logged off to run some errands and came back home and logged in and sure enough I'm playing again. So far so good. Well I finally leave the beginner island and I'm off to Qeynos. Everything seems alright until I log off for dinner and then when I go to log back on.. trouble starts. The same trouble I had a loong time ago when I tried to play this game.

I select my character from the launcher and I get all the way up until it says Launching UI resources. It doesn't go any further. The next screen I see is this one.

It will continue to go to log on server #8 at times before just putting me back to the character select screen in game. Sometimes it just boots me back to my desktop. When it does boot me back to select my character, I select them and then I get a box that says I've lost connection to the server. The game actually kicks me off the internet! Now I don't have any anti-virus protection on my computer so that can't be it. My firewall is turned off and even if for some reason it wasn't, EQII is listed as an exception. I have unchecked it, hit apply, then re-checked it again just to be sure even though my firewall is definitely off. Here are some of my specs.. I've added more memory and a newer graphics card since the last time I played so I thought maybe it would work now.

Windows Vista 32 bit

AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3200+ 2.00GHz

2046MB

Nvidia GeForece FX 8600GT (Yes I have the latest drivers installed )

Here are my Netgear settings, still left from when I spoke with tech support at both EQII and my cable company.

I was playing just fine up until around 9:30pm est and around 10pm est is when it stopped letting me in. It's now 4am and it still won't let me in, gets stuck at Loading UI resources and *poof* before I know it there goes my internet connection. I can and have played all sorts of MMO's from City of Heroes to World of Warcraft and this is the only game that does this. Any help is much appreciated

Well on one side I'm glad to know it's common, maybe if it happens to enough people it will get more attention. On the other hand, it makes EQII completely unplayable. It's so weird. After I initially installed the game, I was actually able to play for about 3 hours before I logged off. I logged back in no problem and was on for around 45 minutes with no problem and ever since I logged out last, it's not let me back in the game since. I get all the way to Launching UI resources (or loading.. can't remember) and that's where it freezes. I've done everything I can think of that has been mentioned in alot of these posts from right clicking my EQII.exe, EverquestII.exe and the other one L_something and making sure it's set to run in compatability with WinXP Sp2 and I have right clicked both the Station folder as well as the Everquest II folder in the Sony folders and made sure they are not set to read only.

I guess I just feel like I've run out of options and the worst part is, when it did let me play, I really enjoyed it. It stinks to have to cancel my membership and know that there's nothing that can be done, I just simply can't play the game.

Well I just happened to check back here in the support forums and it seems other people are having the exact same problem. Not able to get passed the Loading UI resources and getting booted from the internet all together. I think it's happening to way to many people. I believe by now, all of us with Vista know to make it compatible with WinXp SP2. Not to sound rude or anything but the responses everyone seems to get from the tech team seem a bit like they are blowing it off. The fixes they are mentioning aren't working, it seems most of us who have this problem has tried everything that has been thrown at us. I have a difficult time believing it's anything other than the game at this point. At first I thought it was something I did wrong, I'm not very techy.. but after returning tonight to see if anyone has responded to my thread, I happen to notice two or three other threads with people having the exact same problem. A tech responds and when the original poster replies and says nothing they have suggested is working... I guess their post is supposed to just disappear. It's just sad.

I have exactly the same problem.

I have been able to log into Eq2 since release (to Dec 2007).

I resubbed last Friday, I get to the character select screen, select my character but then cannot connect to the server.

The SOE techs dont do anyhting about it but say its my router which is [Removed for Content].
