ok so here's how things are! I recently had to wipe/reinstall my system put everything back as it was installed eq2/patched and got back in had no problems for a while and then, while in a vaults grp in jarsath I noticed I kept getting these odd freezes! I can move but cannot speak fight etc and nothing else seems to move then after around4/5 secs it goes back to normal for a few secs then starts again. I thought at first that it was happening due to the fact that I had zoned quite a few times before coming to vaults BUT! I tried a bit of solo for an hr or so in pillars and noticed it happening then, only thing I've noticed is that on the new connection status panel is that when I get these freezes I do get a packet loss! only things different I running this time compared to before which I never had this first time round is avg is running in the background and windows firewall is up! is it worth me shutting avg off? I do not get this problem every day I've been in many coa grps and never had it! most of the time it happens has been vaults and a few solo occasions but it does annoy me a bit, just wondered if anyone else had a similar problem or any ideas I could try?

I would say shut off AVG and Windows firewall as a test, see if those things make your connection any better. If not please report back.

I also get several packet losses then everything is fine untill the next time! this has only very recently started to happen along with the odd things like when camping to desktop I get booted to character select!!!!

can any info be given on a way to resolve this please? or has anyone else had similar probems?

Virgin media is one of the ISPs that we know for sure is having issues with our service. While it doesn't seem that you're fully effected by it, they are currently making changes, some of these changes made people unable to play at all. Because of this they are, supposedly, making MORE changes to try and help the customers unable to connect at all. During these changes it's likely that you'll encounter errors and issues along the way, as some of their changes are sure to effect you. This post was a few days ago, so let me know if you're still having issues or if things came around back to normal.

thanks for the reply! yes I'm afraid I'm still having problems! odd thing is it affects my warlock the most! if I try to use him I get pings of over 3,000! my other characters are occasionaly acting weird with lag and a few seconds freezing but not as bad as that one! althought it seems to have eased slightly it is still causing a few problems.
