<p>Every so often you turn my lights down low. Usually I can figure out how to get them shining brightly again. but this time the Genereic Wall Sconces, Paladin Braziers, and all of those colorful sconces have lost their flame. They still give off ambient light, but the flame is gone. </p><p>There are flames showing in some of the other lights. Must be based on a differenet system than the older generic and braziers lights. </p><p>How do I turn them back on? I've set overall lighting to max. I've set max lights back to 30.</p><p>Hmmm. Somthing is stirring in my memory. Far something or the other. Is that it? The value isn't actually listed under lights in options. I forget where. </p><p>Is there an explanation somewhere of all the properties listed in options? I don't know what half the options are about. Clicking help doesn't tell much. </p><p> </p>

try particle effects, or complex shader distance (in performance)

Not sure if this helps but if your are using an nvida card you may need to update your drivers. I logged in after the brief patch yesterday and noticed that all the lighting and textures were messed up. There was no more shine to my armor and things just seemed overly bright with no shadows. I did some checking and it seemed nvidia had a new driver set. Seemed to fix the problem straight away.

I'm not using N'Vidia. Guess I should check for new drivers for what I am using, if I can remember what I have in the system now<img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />" width="15" height="15" /> Thanks to all who helped. </p><p>I wish the game wouldn't reset my options whenever they do a big update. </p>

(( just keep this general rule of thumb in mind:If it's made of moving things like dancing flames, flickering embers, sparks, smoke, stars, dust, fog, sprinkles, glowing auras, droplets, etc...its particles. If what you are lacking is actually just Light-intensity and illumination (not flames or anything visual, but just Light)...its lighting. That way you will know exactly which option to tweak 8-)

Cloth simulation is also controlled by particles. Flowing robes or dresses or anything that hangs like cloth does is affected by Particle Settings also.
