One things we do back on the island I came from is the Nest Pillows.During the courtship, the woman gathers lots of underground roots, and chews them until they're softs. Then she dyes them, and weaves them into a pillows. Then she gives the pillows to her betrothed. It's symbolics. It's a sign of the woman's commitment and ability to makes a good home in which to raise a families. Back long agos, of course, she would makes a whole nest like this. But since movings above ground, nicer materials have become availables.

Well you must have a nice big cheesecake of course and it would be acceptable to bring shinies as gifts, I'm sure.

If you're asking for a verified piece of lore that details such events, I'm afraid I can't give you any. Very little is known about the Ratonga other than where they came from. There is some ritualitic dance ceremony that Ratonga maidens perform with almost violent results to ensure dominance.

I remember reading the Ratonga 'dance' book, and how one female helped another with a move, and the elders disqualified her. I don't remember seeing anything violent in that or the history books. Got some links?
