Great interview! In my years of MMO experience, the art team members always seem to be the most outgoing and fun. Not that the rest of the crew is boring.. just an observation.

Fun read. Back in my EQ1 days, I really wanted to do something similar, but ended up being discouraged after trying several programs to find out they weren't what I was looking for. While I'll probably never try that route again, it's nice to know about the processes and programs involved, and to hear of a person's success who was able to turn art into a fulfilling career.

SG_01 wrote:
Oh, and people, remember, Art-Directors are not artists!
He discussed working as a gaming artist and contributing to the current art in this game, so how would he not be an artist even though he currently holds a director title?*scratches head*

I would venture that a majority of Art directors in the game business are either former or current artists also. Its that kind of industry.
