I had a sweet new graphics card all ready to go and then realized it was a PCI EXpress connection. I'm having a hard time finding one that looks decent (under $150) that supports AGP connection. Any suggestions?

Geforce 7600 GS, 512 MB is an AGP 8x, supports EQ2 nicely.

Also if you can find 6800gt or 6800 ultras they will work great (Actually better then the 7600). You can also get 7900 and 7950s in AGP too they will work as well as thw 6800gt

The ATI 3850 (AGP) blows away any nvidia AGP card...

Edit: Didn't notice your $150 budget. The cheapest I could find the 3850 was for $220.

Thanks for the feedback, i ended up going with the EVGA GeForce 7300GT 512MB 128-bit DDR2 AGP 8x DVI/VGA/TV which is slightly lower version than the 7600GS. I read a couple of reviews on New Egg from peeps that had been using it on high and balanced settings for EQ2. Anything will be better than the stock 128mb Quatro that came in my dell. Plus for $90 with a $25 rebate i could pass that up. that left me with enough cash to get some more memory.

You might be disappointed in not being able to run the game on balance to HQ if you have a processor that lacks the "umph" in pushing through what is consider a "CPU bound" gaming application.

If this was not an over-sight on your part, then your good-to-go!

My current setup is Precision 360, 2.88mhz, 1.5gig of memory, Pen 4, hopefully that will be good enough. With my stock card I was running it on all low settings with no lag with the exception of the Qeynos cities or really tights spots in groups where we had a ton of mobs and groups effects going off.

Anyone know how the ATi 3850 512MB (AGP) performs with EQ2?I still have a P4 3.2GHz Prescot / 6800GT 256MB / 2 GB RAM.I know the card probably gets bottlenecked by the CPU, but I wonder if I would gain some increase in performance before the card gets bottlenecked?

I have an ATI x1650 PRO 512MB (made by ATI not a third party) on my lowly AMD 2600+ PC.

Works fantastic. An x1950 PRO or higher would probably work even better.

This link gives you a pretty good comparison:

http://www.tomshardware.com/2008/03...hics/page8.html

Hope this helps.
